What ram intakes can be made to work with the 2.0FI engines? (I searched)

I searched, but everyone on here seems to prefer CAI's... I only saw a few ram air intake posts.

I don't want a CAI, because I want to be able to remove the intake when necessary without much trouble (ie - loosen ONE screw/nut/bolt and it's out!). Plus it gets rid of the bulky stock intake system (and will probably perform better too?). I also don't want to have to get down and dirty to get to the filter with a CAI, and worry about spending money on a bypass valve. To add to that, the short ram will be slightly (if not considerably) cheaper than a CAI setup.

Anyhow, if any of you guys have used a ram air intake that was designed for a different car, but was made to work with the 89 LX-i engine please post what intake you used, and what modifications were done to it (if any) to make it work on the Accord.

if you want short ram intake, search for 86-87 prelude intake on ebay.
prelude had the same engine as our accord and intake will fit just fine.

short intake....you will loose a butload of torque...CAI gets your better gains but yeah why dont you want to get one....if its smog...you can print out a CARB sticker.

almost any short ram for a honda/acura will work though you're going to have to cut it probably

i enjoyed having my short ram but as soon as i installed it i wanted a cai lol. a 3" diameter short ram will make u lose tons of torque but you do get a lot more top end

i recommend making your own 2.5" diameter cai but you probably have to learn the hard way like me

ya i got a short ram from kragen works good like everybody else said ya lose alot of bottom end but the top end is better and it sounds sweety at high Rpms but im gunna get a full CAI

You don't have to stick the filter in the bumper... you can bring cold air to the intake and block out hot air at the same time.

i have an eg civic short ram on my car that i cut to fit.

thanks for the input guys, but I guess I'll just get a prelude short ram intake... i dont wan't to spend that much on a weaponr intake, i'd rather go CAI with that amount of $$.

I don't have a dremel , and it seems alot easier to install a ram air :p. I dont know, maybe the bug will hit me after buy the short ram air intake... and then I'll get the CAI. As of now though, I'm pretty set on the short ram due to the easy install (and uninstall when necessary), as well as the fairly low price.

all you need is a hack saw...but yeah deremel does come in handy for making the hole bigger
