very little heat in the car during winter...

i know this isnt about my accord, but the corolla im driving right now has very little heat coming out of it. i remember when i first started driving it, it was a sauna in there when i turned it up, now its like its dying or something. im guessing its not the water pump going as the engine itself isnt overheating in any way. possible that the heater core might be clogged?

If you heater core isn't clogged, then the thermostat is stuck in the open position.

im not sure if that might be it as the car heats up perfectly, even while im driving it. i always thought that if it was stuck open, it wont heat up the car at all?

It could be the heater core valve that doesn't function anymore. That valve is in the engine bay and it's driven by a cable. Have someone move the temp slider in the car and check if the valve moves freely.

im leaning towards a clogged up heater core cause when its not blowing really hot, i can momentarily the heater off, and when i turn it up again, its blowing hot again. any suggestions on how to unclog it without having to replace it?

If it's not either of those check your belt, if it's not that then your water pump is shot.

Generally on most cars, there is two lines that go through the firewall to the heater core. Inlet & outlet side. You can use a blow gun hooked up to a compressor to try to blow the heater core out. Just unhook both sides, to be safe. Look for a valve on that Corolla like these Accords have when moving the heater controls near the firewall.
