but you're still stuck with the wrong b20. first off, it's the b20A that bolts in and that's a b20B. secondly, the b20A that does bolt in was never available in n. america. b20a5 and b20a7 will not bolt in. and neither will the b20a from the 3g preludes, which have engine serial # starting with 5xx,xxx. the one that bolts in has serial # starting with 1xx,xxx. also, the one that bolts in has the oil filler cap on the tranny side of the valve cover, prelude b20a has oil filler cap on accessory side. now if you do want to put in the b20b, it's the same as putting in a b16, b17, or b18. the mount points are all the same between that family of engines.

it all depends on how tight is your budget.
    1. headers with full exhaust. replace the cat for high flowing one or regular after market one. Stock cat is very restrictive.
    2. Cold air intake. you have a few choices. you can make one, instructions in HOW to section. Or you can buy one, 90-93 integra (a few cuttings to the pipes will be needed) or 94+ accord Intake (5th gen accord)(no cutting required to the piping, just the fender).
    3. Performance camshaft. You have a few choices. Look under FAQ.
    4. Regular tune up. Use Honda parts and you should have nice running car.

If you want more power, you can always build turbo for it. It is not cheap and proper tuning will required. You can get away with hack on tunning up to 8psi, it should give you around 160-180hp. or you can convert to OBD-1 and go higher.

do a 5-speed swap. should help with the get up factor. headers + exhaust will make you a happy camper as well. and a lightened flywheel + upgraded clutch. a cam regrind as well. do the civic air box mod and you can get a cold air. and that's about it without actually touching the engine itself.

since you have carb, you can swap the stock carb for a weber carb if you don't have emission laws or test. Headers, full exhaust, weber carb and mild cam will give you nice power boost.

do a tranny swap. just look at the how-to write-up on the forum and grab all the required parts and go to town.

I don't want to put in a clutch. thats a bit to much work right now. I might go with headers until my tranny wears out. then do a swap.

you can always add heavy duty tranny cooler. It will extend the life of your tranny.

Re: is it worth doing an engine swap?

well i have a short ram and i/h/e and my tranny is hell. but it was already going out before i put any of the breathing mods on (only engine mods i have at the moment, though). but i'm going to swap it soon before i do any more mods. but if your tranny is in good shape right now, it shouldn't kill it immediately to have the extra power unless you're one of those people who like neutral drops a lot. and if you do like shepherd79 suggested and put a heavy duty tranny cooler in, you should be fine for awhile.

Re: is it worth doing an engine swap?

well, yeah, if you're gonna have the engine out of the car, might as well get a 5 speed swap done at the same time. look to spend in the neighborhood of $500 for the tranny swap. so far, i've spent $150 for tranny, clutch, and pp, $50 for pedals and shift linkage, and $10 for a speedo cable. you can probably score a tranny and all the other parts at your local junkyard. but i would go w/ a new clutch disc just to avoid the hassle of having to change it again soon. oh, $120 for new axles. but you only really need a new d/s axle.
