    is it worth doing an engine swap?

    I have an 88 auto with 140k on it and i am wondering if doing a engine swap is worth it. o it is carbed.

    nope. not unless you want to go FI or if the engine is giving you problems. Are you trying to swap a different honda engine in? if so the kseries is the way to go. easy swap

    what kind of swap are u talking about. swaping in a A20a3 to replace ur A20A1 or are u talking about swapping another series swap like a b-series swap?

    i'd swap to EFI and keep an a series. these cars aren't that heavy, so it doesn't take a whole lot of power to be fast. a simple turbo setup will get you a long way. just look up what accord epicenter has done with his car and what he's getting out of it.

    I got it for a grand and it does not o me anything. I just wanted to have some fun with it. I replaced the revers gear to get rid of the crunching sound and a some other things. I am working on fixing am oil leek.

    where are you located? there's a decent amount of power to be found with some carb mods.

    but it is also a lot easier to work with fi though. but for a g, i would not go in too deep unless you like it.

    it is dripping some oil but i put some oil die in the other day. it runs pretty good and is in pretty good shape. like i said i did some trans work but that is all.

    lol..cheese...he does not know that our cars are not civics....we cant go out and just buy mounts and expect another engine will fit...you still got to go a long way...and that is convert to Fuel injection.

    you have to ask ur self these questions before u even start a swap

    is the body in exellent condition?
    do i have the money?
    whos going to swap the engine in for me?
    where am i going to get the engine from?
    do u have another car that i can use while the other car is worked on?

    but the first/most important question he should ask before deciding is what are his plans with the car? sure, he may not exactly know right now. but what does he want to see from it?

    like a lot of guys said, you should consider a lot of things before you do any swaps. One of the major ones IMO would be to have a second car to get around.

    if you want reliable daily driver, stick with what you have a just fix it up.

    money is not an issue. i have an inturnship at an auto shop that works on hondas and acuras so i can get an engine and trans pretty cheep. check out there site at: http://www.thehondapeople.com/
