Huh? What kind of trouble with the hubs? You need to be more specific.

    Re: wheel hub

the spilne section on the trany and wheel hub, will the 85 sei model CV shafts match up with the spline on an 88 model trany and 88 model wheel hubs?yes they will, I tryed them alrealdy.although I might need new wheel hub b/c the 85 sei cv shafts will go into one of the hub(the drivers side),but the pasinger side won't go in. Im taking about the hub them self. can I also use 85 sei wheel bearing on an 88 model wheel hub ?

    Re: wheel hub

The Se-i axles should not fit into either of the front hubs, they use the larger spline of the 3rd gen or Si preludes.

It is all explained in the 2g FAQ. There's only 3, it shouldn't be hard to find.

    Re: wheel hub

    So lets recap:

    You have a 3g tranny.
You have 85 SE-i Axles, which pop right into the 3g tranny.

What you need is the 85 SE-i hubs to make everything to together.

Although, what you're saying is that the 85 SE-i drivers-side shaft fits into the standard 85 drivers-side hub?

    Re: wheel hub

The 86-89 wheel hubs should have the same splines as the 85 SEi, so that's why it works.

Yeah the steering knuckles will swap right across from the SEi to the other 2.5g Accords.

    Re: wheel hub

    A few facts:

-86-89 hubs have the same internal spline as the Se-i, but completely different outside dimensions than the Se-i, or standard 2nd gen hubs. They will not interchange with any 2gen bearing swap. The knuckles will not mount to any 2gen car.

-Se-i bearings have the same inside and out dimensions as Prelude Si bearings, I believe that the hubs themselves are the same.

-Se-i/Prelude Si and standard accord bearings have the same outer dimensions, thus they may interchange. The inner diameter is larger, to allow the larger OD'd and splined hub to fit.

If you are going to use Se-i axles and bearings to adapt a 3gen tranny, you need:

    -Se-i axles
    -Se-i/prelude Si bearings, and hubs

If one of your 3gen hubs fit the shaft and the other one doesn't, either:
-you got one wrong shaft from the parts store
-you got one wrong hub from the wrecker
-the hub or spline shaft is damaged

    As I said above, 3gen hubs won't fit the 2gen bearing/knuckle setup.
You need ACCORD SE-i (85) or PRELUDE SI bearings and hubs. There's even part numbers in the FAQ,

THIS WAS ALL EXPLAINED PREVIOUSLY HERE:https://www.3geez.com/forum/showthrea...557#post609557

    Re: wheel hub

Well, the easiest way to ~100 hp is to swap in a twin carb engine from an 83-88 prelude, it will bolt right up to your mounts and tranny. I do believe you can swap just the head, intake and exhaust, but there is some debate here as to whether the ET2 (prelude) head will work with the ES2 (accord) block. As they are from the same family and displacement, i can't see why not. It would be safest to swap the entire engine though. If you want to take the long way around and make 120 hp, you can drop in the engine/tranny (A20A3) from an 88-89 accord, and convert your car to EFI. You will need the entire wiring harness/computer from the donor car.

No, the prelude knuckles won't fit. You need to press the hubs and bearings out, then press them into the 2g knuckles. Just about any auto shop should be able to do it.

    Re: wheel hub

ok SO I finally got the right steering knucks but and got my cv half shaft in. the hole left side of the car is done but I will need a wheel hub bearing on the other side. The ones I got are bad, but what you can expect from a salvage yard .I should soon in 2 days.

Y'all think I will get higher or lower gear ratio

    Re: wheel hub

So how is it? You've got the A20 tranny on the ES2? How do you like the ratios? Are they about the same? I take it you went with the SEi hub and axles? Just not 100% sure at this point.

Congrats dude. I think you're the first person to actually confirm the axle / hub swap works.
