Where to get a bolt-on cat?

Is there any place to get a bolt-on catalytic converter for a decent price?

I called most of the auto parts stores around here (napa, pep boys, kragen...)
All they sell are generic cats that I'd have to weld on.

I havn't tried a dealership yet, do they still sell parts for an '86?

    Thanks,

The Honda Dealer price is $600! which is nuts and it's not as high flow as the newer better engineered Cat's

    Magnaflow does and Catco Does.

I bought a Catco From Summit racing:

    The Catco Cat:

    http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

    The Magnaflow Cat:

    http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Both are great bolt on ACTUAL Cat's.

But be advised neither of them include nuts and bolts, but those can be bought at most auto parts stores or hardware stores.

Also you will need two new Gaskets :

    http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...pe=791&ptset=A
(This is based on Kragen/Shucks/Chucks Stores but autozone and most honda dealers have them.

    there like $2-$4 Dollars Each

    Good Luck!

as great as the straight pipes are, I'm sure in a city like San Diego, CA they have yearly or every 2 Year smog, meaning you have to have a REAL Cat.

Re: Where to get a bolt-on cat?

Sweet. Those two cats are alot cheaper than the generics...

Between the catco and the mangnaflow, do you know which one is better in terms of lowering emissions?

And yeah, Cali is a bitch...

That's why I never drive my VR4 anymore.
Tags expired July '04, and I havn't been able to get it smogged yet.

With running rich at 16psi boost (no fuel management yet), and having no cats (out of the 3 stock), no egr and no carbon canister (due to vacuum reduction) the car failed as a gross polluter and maxed out the HC reading on the smog machine at over 3000 -- gotta love it.

As far as getting your car reposessed, they won't do that...
There's a chance they'll impound it, which costs at least $400 to get it out of the tow yard if you don't leave it over 2 days (happened twice to me becuase of the tags...)

But most likely it will be a fix-it ticket or a smog ref ticket (which is a BITCH)
The whole reason I bought the Accord was to have a car I can drive legally and not modify.

As far as modding, I already fucked up there.. I found out I can't own a car without modding it. I swear it's a desease.

But I do want to get it to pass emissions, visual I could give a fuck about, as that's easy to get around.

The hc's and nox are a little high right now, so I'm gonna replace the cat, o2, egr, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and hopefully it'll take care of it.
