    Cruise Control

One day I was driving home from work and my cruise didn't work. I have checked all fuses and vacuum lines and there are no problems. The main switch seems to be working since the light is on but it will not set. The light in the dashboard doesn't come on either.
Any suggestions on what this might be?

Check the connector on the cruise control actuator. If it seems to be ok, then possible one of the wires broke off on the slip ring on the combination switch. You can check if you just pull the steering column cover(upper/lower). The set of wires that are for the cruise control are located on the bottom of the column, and they are very close to the steering wheel. You should be able to see 3 of them, with a 4th single wire connected with a connector.

why would he pull the wheels off? there is nothing there for cruise control?
check the buttons on the steering wheel and check the control box. it could be the box.
I had to replace one on my wife's 01 civic.

There are vacuum lines going to the controler too, if there was a vacuum problem I do not think it would work either.
