    Cruise control fault

When I bougth my car towards the end of last year the cruise worked fine coming up the road, but more recently it doesn't work at higher speeds now (ie 70mph). It will still work at 50mph-ish & under.

The main switch works & the 'cruise control' sign illuminates when it is used at the lower speeds but at 60 or 70 for example, the dash light won't come on either.

Currently the ABS warning light is on so I'm wondering if its something to do with that?

    Advice pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease !

Hmm.... since we don't have ABS here, I don't know if the systems are tied together or not.

HOWEVER. I do know that ABS uses the speed sensor vs the sensors in the wheels to determine wheel lock.

I also know that the Cruise works off of the speed sensor.

I would put money on the speed sensor being bad.

    Cool !

Thats the sort of answer I was hoping for as I'll have to get the ABS sorted without question anyway!

    Thanks

I would guess it's a sensor issue as well. It does work, just not at a certain speed. The cruise doesn't "work" at higher speeds because it doesn't know it is supposed to be "working". The speed sensor for the cruise is actually in the speedometer itself. Honda used a couple different vendors here in the states for that speedo. If that is your issue, be sure you get a speedo. from the same manufacturer as your original. Keep us posted. I loves me some cruise!

To update... the cruise now works as it should again & thats because the ABS is fully functioning again! How it is I don't know, as I did nothing to fix it, except not use the car for 2 weeks or so.

    Anyway, I'm happy!

Yay! I wish my cruise control would fix itself. But I think it's my speedometer cable, since the speedo has started wobbling. VSS Probably can't get a good reading.
