Just curious but is an 88 Lxi hatchback based in any way off a AE86 trueno? There are several similarities between these two cars. Maybe honda liked the style and wanted their own version?

i think if i remember right that our accord HB's are the same wheelbase only i think that the accord is 3" overall wider in wheelbase i could be wrong tho
1989 Accord Lx-i hatchback (current DD project)

lol that reminds me of this thread https://www.3geez.com/forum/showthrea...ghlight=trueno
I wonder if those front bumpers would fit the hatchies?
Not even close to the same, except for looks, sorta.
The corollla is rwd, has a 4age (at least the GTS versions), some had stock lsd, it has a solid rear axle, it has pretty decent aftermarket support (swaps, suspension, etc).
So basically no similarities.
Alex
I fit my 89 Accord bumper on my 95 corolla, never say never
Gotta love that kit

hahahaha why did you put a 3gee bumper on a corolla? thats funny, i can picture it in my head
lol like i said in some previous thread, force a 3gee body to fit a trueno and people will think you have a RWD 3gee :P
You are a little off, but here are the numbersOriginally Posted by gp02a0083

i think i'll hide myself now

Or just slice down the middle and fill in the center.

no where near close. overall the corolla is smaller and more poorly built. the interior panels are to plastic-ee even the gts ones(whiich are always broken)
the light switch adn the wiper switch arms are always broken or on their way out. The exteriors are pretty cheaply put together also with bumpers that dont fit all to well and tailightsthat are always getting full of watter.
I use to hate it when people use to compare my hatch to corrolas. theyre not on the same level as te accord.
Ive swapped motors and trannies in many of them for the gts twincam fi models not to mention swapping complete wring harnesses and brake lines etc to accomodate the gts rear disc end in lsd and non lsd form.
the only reason anyone notices them know is because of drifting. Us Puertoricans been hookin up sapitos ( ae86's) since day one.
Other than that they are nice little cars with more aftermarket than the 3rd gen accord and pretty peepy with the twicam fi motor.![]()
