    AC Compressor

    Hi there.
I thought about making my AC work again, and read the how to.
    And there is one problem.
Nippon denso compressor will stand 134a
    Keihin dont ...

I was looking at my compressor, and I cant find any info,
    which one is it...
I dont see any part numbers, any brand name... nothing...
Maybe someone have some pics of those two... or know where the PNs are on it...

The Keihin is the smallest (and ugliest )
There are two Nippon Denso's 10PA15E and 10P15E, both will work, however I believe you need the matched bracket (i can't remember now). The 10PA15E is bigger.
I broke a keihin on R134 so it is possible the myth is true. The compressor siezed and after 10 seconds of screaming belt it flew off and took the power steering belt with it.
I have been running the 10PA15E on R134 with no problems, it was sooooo freaking cold when I first installed it... I think I have a leak.

You are supposed to replace the receiver/dryer every time you allow outside air into the system (i.e. replacing hoses)

mine just gave up....it worked good for about 2 months and one day the clutch for the thing would not kick in.

    Re: AC Compressor

first - i dont know what kind of gas was in it, so as far as I know the dryier should be changed. I think that my AC is more than 2 years without any gas.
I dont know yet is it becouse of the leak, or something else. I may have not working compressor or something. This was not an issue till now. I want to have it checked , but first I wanted to come clear in costs. I wouldnt even try to start it with keihin :-) Now, I know that I can stand for 134a even if someone will try to put expensive r12. So first research, than go thru with it.
With dryier, gas if no leak it should close in 100$ or near.
Bigger problem is with my Porsche it still uses R12, and retro fit kit (for 134a) is not cheap...
as for black Aero, hey its nice black, but I would love to have two colour paint in my NH503P and silver/gold (dont know the colour code) as the JDM SI were.

    Re: AC Compressor

I just realized I have had Nippo compressors on both cars all a long. The different one I bought this weekend is a Sandon, none mine look like that Kelkin.

    Re: AC Compressor

I ran R134a in a keihin for 10 years. They do tolerate the conversion as well as any other compressor.
