    Where to buy Oxygen Sensor?

Just picked up an 89 SE-i Coupe. Needs lots of work but the body is in great shape save for the peeling clear coat, and a couple dings.
Anyway - runs a little rough at idle and is throwing a "1" code on the ECU - meaning Primary O2 sensor. Looked at Honda and they want $145 and $185 for each of the sensors....I like honda parts, but not THAT much.
Anyone had luck with a GOOD reoplacement O2 sensor?
    thanks

Wow you have a lot of ole Hondas!
Keep in mind the O2 sensors are reading what is coming out of the car and then loop the info back to fuel managment. O2 codes do not always mean bad sensor, but in fact it proves the sensor is reading something. Testing with meter and use logic to determine the cause of the primary problem. Use three strikes and your out philosophy before you say the O2 sensor needs replacement.
Borg Warner makes a good OEM type replacement sensor
I am sure others here can recommend brands they have luck with.
You have enough cars there, why not 'borrow' one from another car just to see if anything changes.

Bosch ones are cheap but don't last an especially long time. Only ~$20.

    I forget, are the 3g o2 sensors 1 wire?

I like cheap tranportation, and have had some luck lately finding a couple more SE-i's. Been looking for a parts car and keep finding cars that are too nice to part out! BUMMER
Good tip on the O2 sensor - any ieads of what would logically cause one to trip the ECU code? I'll try swapping one from another car - just hope I don't break one in the process!!

Use the correct O2 sensor socket or wrench , carefull of radiator and fans though.
idle air controls, coolant sensors and or low coolant, Throttle position switch, stopped up cat or muffler...just a few things to check/
To be honest it is hard without obd 1 or 2 data readings.
You have a symptom and a code at the same time so you should be able to logic your way to the cause. A lot of times there is just a code and no symptom or visa versa, so your ahead of the puzzle already.

    thanks for the ideas!!
I didn't realize ODB readers would give you more info than the ECU blinking led would.

I replaced mine (never been replaced before...)a few years ago when I barely passed CA emissions. (88 CARB DX) It really made the car run better and next emission test passed by a mile ( less than 1/10 of max) I ordered from Oxygen sensors dot com

    http://www.oxygensensors.com/

I forget which one I ordered but it was around $35 including shipping. Still working well.
Making sure you need one is a good idea first, but if it's never been replaced, not likely there is much life left after 100k miles.
You can check them with a good digital volt meter.

Thanks for the site Gary - looks like they sell a few brands including Denso - which may be OEM?? I'll have to look in the shop manual for how to test the sensor.

if you want OEM parts go here:
    http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/

    http://www.hondapartscheap.com/southbay/jsp/home.jsp

any O2 sensor would work just fine. Go to autoparts store and pick one up for $20.
