hehe just looking at the picture makes me wonder how much the vacuum is raising the fuel level in the float bowl if it's sealed.
I'll read the link later. But thanks for posting it.
EDIT: hrm actually the rate at which the fuel could be refilled would increase, but not nessescarily the level itself... anywho back to my movie.

at least we know they are not sealing off the float chamber.
I was reading the paragraph under "SIZE"
.
I saw they mentioned eagle research so I looked them up in google as well.

I had a simmilar mod which I was going to try venturi vacuum, using manifold vacuum I was worried there would be a vacuum leak...
here was the setup:
I modified the top hat quite a bit.

interesting stuff, site glass for combustion chamber.. hmmm
I use the white mouse exhaust analyzer set. Uses replacable white mice, place mouse at tailpipe, if the mouse turns red, too lean, mouse bursts into flames, way too lean...mouse turns black too rich, mouse runs around in circles three times and ducts inside the tailpipe, just right.
it looks like our stock carb rats nest already employs a similar circuit. see hoses 14 and 11.

None of them vent the float bowl in the stock setup.
Also don't hook vacuum to the Air Jet Controller ports at the back of the carb or you risk syphoning out fuel.

Looks to me like just a way to draw off carb bowl vapors and mix them in with the air/fuel charge. Basically the same thing that the charcoal system does, without the temporary storage that the canister provides.

Oh not at all, the product is pretty darn interestingOriginally Posted by A20A1
Honestly, I was bringing forth a little humor on the subject. There are plenty of ways to detect correct mixture settings. Even so there seems to be a continuing variance on four cylinders with carbs. You can have it perfect one day and then the next day it is slightley off, so yes I empathize with efforts towards devopment of any device that can help us.
It is usually pretty obvoius when rich conditions are present but when lean out conditions exist, that is what warrents serious attention. Exhaust tempurature guage is a favored device IMO.
So how does vacuum in the float bowl prevent flooding and increase fuel efficency?
No his beef on flooding was nothing to do with this mod... flooding was caused by bad needle seats... and he knows it.
I dunno about fuel efficiency... I've still only skimmed his page.
