    Are all O-ring created equal?

An o-ring was needed for the P/S pump. I wasn't able to procure an O-ring of proper size from the local mc-part store, so I got one from the toilet department of the local hardware store. Are toilet O-rings the same as automotive O-rings? If not, are there adequate for the P/S pump?

Depends, maybe or maybe not. But I wouldn't worry about it.

I wouldn't worry about it till you see it leaking. If i am correct, automotive o-rings are made to take heat, who knows. You should be fine.

automotive O-rings are made to resist oil. Then you got red ones made for gas lines, & some green ones made for AC lines. Toilet O-rings, never tried them out on cars yet.

Turd seal for the turn seal, at least you didnt use a No. 1 Wax Ring!!

I think you'll be OK though. Most auto stores have an assortment of O-Rings they can match up to. NAPA has a great selection.

Isn't there a honda dealer where you live? You can even order them online.

I ordered all of my power steering seals from Majestic Honda, no leaks and only cost me around $15 for all of them.

seems like the honda o-rings are very odd sized...not your normal sizing. You may have some that are close and may work. Best bet is get the real deal from the dealer, and forget about it.

The issue is moot because I just found myself a manual rack. Hurrah!
