i just picked up an 86 DX Hatch (im gonna part it out so if anybody wants anything lemmie know)
does the DX have a main relay? if it does will it work on an LX-i?

im sure it does and im sure it will ive never heard anything to prove that wrong
i dont think a dx one would work on a lx-i ......i remember it has a fuel cut off on the carb models and i check that out when my carb was acting retarded

Carbed cars have fuel cut-off relays, not main relays. They both have the same problems with solder joints going out.
ok, let get this mistery solved with experince and not by looking at autoparts website. most of them don't know shit about our cars.
carbed accord don't have main relays but they do have a fuel cut relay that is on the back of the fuse box under the dash.
EFI ones have main relay and it is on driver side, under the dash on the left all the way at the top.
and final, fuel cut relay will not work on EFI accord.
