yeah the EX-S and EXL-S had b18a dual carb
i think he means from the traditional b-series family. so no, to my knowledge, there isn't a carbed version of any of them. you might wanna check worldwide specs to be sure, but i think the b-series were all pgm-fi or efi.
wouldn't it make more sense that he's talking about the engines that were actually installed in a 3gee?
cars with the b18a
- 1986-1989 Accord Aerodeck LXR-S/LX-S (Japan)
- 1986-1989 Accord EXL-S/EX-S (Japan)
- 1986-1989 Vigor MXL-S (Japan)
The pic i provided is the pic Steve_si took of his parts car. And it is an Accord.Originally Posted by snoopyloopy

yes, i'm aware of there being the dual carb b18a for our cars and that the b20a uses the same im as the a20a so you could put an a20a1 carb on it as well and have a carbed b20a. but i didn't know there was a b16 for our cars as well, which is why i'm guessing he is actually asking about the b16a/b, b18a/b/c, b20b/z from the civic, integra, and crv. if there actually was a b16 for our cars, then correct me. or, op, if that's not what you're talking about, then let us know as well. and as far as i know, that family of b-series that i just mentioned doesn't have a carbed version that i'm aware of.
The B18A has a different intake manifold layout and is pretty much useless from what I've seen. (unique manifold). I only compared part diagrams so it may actually be compatible with something else.
The easiest way to use a B20A with carbs is to use an A20A intake manifold with a Webber Downdraft properly jetted for it. The OEM A20A carb isn't up to par with the B20A

yeah the b18a for the 3gen accord only puts out 130hp.....nothing fancy. if you rebuild your a20 it could put out more with a bump in compression and a lil over bore.

Thanks guys i'm looking in to trying to do a carbed B18a in my 89 DX
An original 3G B18A or a B18A from an integra? Quite different engines as far as i know.
Edit: Yeah just went and compared the IM on the EXL-S and 2.0Si. No way is the dual carb from a B18A gonna bolt up to a B20A head.
