    greetings from new zealand

hiya im new here and from new zealand, i noticed that many of you are looking for jdm parts, well im happy to help, for a fee of course lol, but yea jdm is pretty standard here so just ask but plz remember that for heavier stuff shipping will be a bit of a killer.

Anyways i have a 89 accord LX carbed and manual that i got for $400NZD that i used for mud racing recently till i hit a rock and then decided it was too good to really be doing that to, she's still driving strong but i might need your guys help on a few things.

the engines a a20a2 btw and the funny thing is my registration papers claim its a 90 accord lx, go figure?

Hey whereabouts in NZ are you?

Anyway your car would be a 1990 NZ New model, our market was almost a year behind the rest of the world.

    Re: greetings from new zealand

    steve SI im from christchurch

And to everyone else looking for jdm, that will have to wait a little while as i accidently gave myself a little project recently thanks to some SOB who cut off the guy in front of me by changing lanes in the middle of a 2 laner roundabout with me haulin a trailer none the less

so im going to have to buy a new one and i might redesign it to my tastes.

And yea theres lots of honda junkyards nearby

Anyone else surprised that an orthia's rear bumper can survive unscathed from a 25k shunt with nothing more than a scuff mark and a screw embedded in it from my left indicator?
While my bumper looks like a dump truck reversed into it? grr

Wasn't one of the roundabouts at either end of Blenheim Road was it? People always do dumb shit on those.

But yeah the front of a car always suffers more damage than the rear. It's designed to crumple easy to absorb the shock of the impact. A crumpled bumper is annoying, but a crumpled face might be worse :P

If you need parts to fix yours I might have something. Look for posts by me relating to donor cars.

PS for all you other guys, an Orthia is a wagon based on the EK Civic and has a B18B or B20B non vtec engine.

    Re: greetings from new zealand

It was the blenheim road roundabout near hagley park by the overbridge!
I think i would have prefered a sore forhead rather than a bent radiator fortunatly it dosent appear to be leaking apart from the reservoir which sprung a hose

    Re: greetings from new zealand

Let me guess, some idiot in the left-only lane decided to go straight, and cut off someone in the left or straight lane who was also trying to turn left? Anyway soon that bypass will open and retards will have to find a new way to cut people off.

Are you friends with Angus? If so, I'm the guy who used to own his Nissan Laurel (the good one, not the diesel one!).

NO WORSE! he entered the straight lane going straight and then mid roundabout decided to change lanes into the left turn lane while the orthia was pulling out!, you should go to the bypass late at night and move some of the cones and floor it up there!, for once we have a smooth nice non-shitty road YAY

and nah dont know any angus
