    4th generation map sensor

    SO i just got my 4th generation mapsenor and i installed it. My car idialed really low and almost died and after about a minute running the check engine like came on. SO i reinstalled mystock one and it ran fine. Any body no what my problem is.

    maybe you just got a bad sensor.

    i dont think its that, but i guess it could be. but when u install it are u suppose to reset ur ecu because ididnt i think i was supposed to but not sure?

    yeah i just swaped mine also....didnt even have to restart or reset the ecu....also did you splice it..it had 3 wires that have to be connected right.

    its the one i got of of gfrg88 and it all looks fine. ill take of the tape and make sure there all connected properly.

    well i just went out and i started it and let it idle for a while with the 4th generation map sensor and it was actually worked like normal but the check engine light was still on and then i killed it and startedf it right back and then it was back to the crappy idle and shitty running but then went back to normal and right when it went back to normal idel and running the check engine light came on.

    two things:
    1. it is probably not wired properly or
    2. the sensor is dead.

    you won't see big gains. you just going to waist fuel with 4G SENSOR.
    just keep the stock one.
