If you want to pass emissions there are a few things you can do. Mostly likely your cat is weak or gone, your O2's could be weak or gone or you could have lots of mileage on the engine. However Honda engines are usually pretty good. So here is the trick I used. Run your tank until it is close to empty then add Methlyhydrate or gas line antifreeze. The amount will vary depending on how much you are running rich. I used about 2 litres or 2 pints for an 1/8 of a tank and it passed. I tried 4 litres and failed cause it was over lean. It didnt' hurt my engine and sure went like a bat out of hell. Good luck.

I hate learning things the hard way...

So I thought I couldn't renew my registration on my car until it passed smog. So when it failed, I waited, and since I haven't had the money to get it looked at, the registration is now out-of-date and overdue.

Well, turns out in CA you can pay the fees without the smog cert and that's when they give you the temp. registration! Of course, now I don't have the cash for that, either! ARRRGGHHH!!!

Now I can't park my car in the street without fear of it getting towed...
