yeah im gonna take it elsewhere...cause im not just gonna toss those rotters...theve been great to me. i guess ill have my uncle resurface them in cali when i go on the 25th of this month...im in arizona right now and it is F'in HOT!..lol
Another tip when braking: avoid complete stops when hard braking. Don't fly up to a stop light, and slam on the brakes. When you heat them up, then completely stop with the rotors not moving, the heat will cause the pads to deposit materials in that one spot. It will make your brakes feel warped when stopping.
It's like when taking a freeway offramp, slow down way early, and let your car slowly come to a stop so the rotors can cool before completely stopping.
You can actually try heat cycling your brakes a few times, sometimes that will take care of the problem. It doesn't cost you anything, and if they're still shuddering, get them resurfaced.
Just get on an open road and run up to about 80, and do some threshold braking down to about 30-40mph. Don't lock them up or you will deposit more material on the rotors. Do it about 3 or 4 times, or until you feel brake fade. Don't brake much more if they start fading, then drive around a bit and let them cool. You may be surprised at how much smoother the braking may be. It usually burns off the deposits.

OK. just got my car back from the shop...everything was installed..turned the engine on and sounds pretty good..but idles really weird when i pull out it rattle like a moffo from underneathits slower, alittle loud, and the engine check light comes on and stays on? can anyone help me?
Do a check all of the the fittings on the entire exhaust system, check the vacuum system fittings, check the gaskets and their fit on the head. That's all I can think of at the moment. They only installed the header, cat, muffler, and did custom pipes right?
Well heres exactly what was done: They installed the pacessetter headers connected to magnaflow cat 2.25" pipe to the muffler. then they intalled my NGK iridium spark plugs/wires...complete tune up with cap and rotor, fuel filter, oil filter, oil change, and some reconditioned injectors that i had bought.
It could be the injectors or the spark plugs and or wires. IDK for sure though and the rattle is prob from them not putting the rubber bushings on the exhaust hangers or the exhaust being to close to a body panel.
sounds like it could be your O2 sensors....did they replace them? also check your code.

well the spark plugs and wires are brand new. after test driving it for a bit i know that the rattling is the exhaust hitting something bad
no they didnt replace the O2 sensors...but one of them is new because a couple months ago it threw a sensor code so i had it replaced
swap your o2 plugs and check to see if its hitting a heatshield somewhere.
as far as feling slower its because of the larger exhaust. itll most likely be faster in the upper rpm.
do you have any other supporting mods?
Ok Ill tell them to swap the O2 sensors to see if it works. And your right about the rpms...when i hit the gas it seems to lag it...but once it hits higher rpms...it hauls some ass.
the cat will take a week to fully break in....i remember mine being kinda loud and now its nice and deep tone to it. its easy to replace the O2 sensors...why pay some one to do it? plus they are cheap at like 30 bucks a pop...also did you seal the A/S part of the header.

Yeah im going to swap the sensors myself instead. I just took my car back to the shop right now...jacked it up with the big machine and noticed the the header is hitting the front fame member and the bracket that holds the downpipe wasnt installed right. there going to take a piece off the frame so it wont hit and fix the bracket...hopefully it will stop the noise...it was imbaracing driving it to the shop..lol..my car sounds like i have a bunch of soda cans hanging from the bottom of my car...lol.
Try swaping the O2 plugs Left should be connected to the green plug, right to the white.
