Yup front subframe or traction bar in this case.

Re: Frantik's Green Monster - Past, Present & Future

I made a bit of progress since my last post. Here's the latest. I bolted a bunch of stuff up. I put it in the car and bolted the mounts up. Then I bolted some more stuff up, and then I ran the new wiring harness. So here we are a handful of part bolted together in a engine bay in a car that still doesn't move lol progress

I'm just plugging away at it. Started mounting the radiator and probably going to have to move the PS cooler to make a bit more space . Then there is this plug wires talk about short run. Most likely have to heat wrap the wires as they sit so close to the manifold but yeah here the latest

Ps cooler just came in; this should do the trick. I just need to find a place to put it with everything else I got going on, but I have an idea

Putting in some work. It's getting there slowly. Need to weld up some pipes/tab, make some lines/hoses, cut/crimp the spark plug wires, and some other Miscellaneous thing I'm sure I have forgotten about.

Lol not a bad idea, but I went the k.i.s.s route and ziptied it to the radiator support just above the radiator. It's a much clearer look. Don't mind the blue bung cord it's just holding the intercooler in place for the time being. Lol

Re: Frantik's Green Monster - Past, Present & Future

These should make my life much easier dealing with the spark plug wires the 90's would have looked clean, but it would have been a pain to crimp everything and I would have had to keep wire longer then I wanted just to crimp them making the wires lay close too the manifold

Custom plugs wires. What a pain in the a$$ all 6in of them lol. Now, I'm definitely going to need to wrap/cover them so they don't melt. But they are on there, and they should do the trick. More updates I'm next post

Re: Frantik's Green Monster - Past, Present & Future

A couple of nutsert's and some tabs made up not perfect but the radiator and intercooler are fully mounted in place no zipties or bungee cords hold them in place. Just need to trim the bumper more to get it on. But some progress has been made.

I have a couple of different crimping tools. Just not a 7mm on, so I made due with the 4 other ones I own.

That pricey crimp tool is exactly why I haven't yet tried to make my own plug wires. I've had to jury rig failed plug connectors at the roadside and it's challenging. Kudos to you for pulling it off.

Oh, trust me, I'm definitely thinking about getting one because I have a feeling I'll have to do it again with how close this wire are to the manifold . And thanks, that means a lot coming from you, man. I appreciate the compliment. It wasn't easy, that's for sure, but I'm confident that I can at least get the car started and possibly a test drive, so I'm gonna run it. I did, however, shell out the money for the tools to do the an fittings and lines that should be here the weekend. So it is getting pretty close.

Oil pans all welded shut. No more oil returns from the black box, more room for the intermediate half shaft mounts plate. I painted them but ran out of daylight to get a good photo.
