Re: Frantik's Green Monster - Past, Present & Future

Just some photos of the slow as shit progress. 5 speed awd in fits way better than I planned in many way but still a bit of work to be done.

First I'll have to choose how much of the crv shift mount I'll use or none at all. For the most part the shifter could be made to work but cut some of the stock area for clearance and then drill nee holes to bolt it in place. But if you got the extra mile you can cut and weld the crv mount in place.

Then I'll have to cut a hole in the fire wall near then bottom to run the cables for the shift you can see in the photos the cables make up through the stock shifter hole bar are just a bit short. This is were the trimming to make the shifter fit come in to play. Once the shifter has room it would probably work with out cutting the fire wall. But cutting the fire wall would shorten the route by about a inch or so making then rech a bit better. Either way you have to cut something.

    Continues next post ...............

Re: Frantik's Green Monster - Past, Present & Future

For those wondering how the shifter firs with the interior plastic. There is a good chance little to no trimming that I can see. I'll have to put the eq and cd player back in to be sure but I dont see it being a problem and even if the cables are ran in from the fire wall theres plant of space to slide them under everything.

Next thing is to take the car to my homies place to start hacking at things and welding stuff together.

Re: Frantik's Green Monster - Past, Present & Future

So it been a while since I updated so here it go's. If you follow the a2b plate post in FB group you may have heard what was happening or not with that(I'll up day the post here soon). Long and short I took measurments found out something's fit better than others. Then went ahead made some adjustments and a temporary rear mount. Then my second of two crv's(both crvs I owned were stolen since March) was stolen with the rear mount in it after I got home from making it. It was recovered with the mount in it a month later.....blah blah still not finished blah blah I'm lagging .

In the mean time I had the opportunity to purchase Chris Humphrey aka Boba Fett built block. Took a while but I some family that held on to it for me tell this weekend when a buddy literally picked it up and put in his turnk on a empty return trip and dropped hours ago so I guess you could say shit just got real.

    And now we wait........

Crack heads will steal anything these days, I swear, can't have shit in San Leandro.

Glad you got your crap back, I like to see these updates. I guess I never thought to ask, but what flywheel does this use? B series with a spacer on the crank?

Edit: Ok I found the spacer lol. I'd really like to see the flywheel bolts though, I'm not crazy about crank spacers, but my dying A2Q6 keeps me awake at night. I might make my own adapter since I have mill access and an extra block, if you or your buddy would sell me a template I'd be down to buy it, Im not trying to steal anyones fire. Any idea what the axle situation is like? Anyone on fb running a fwd trans?

Yeah the lock down got my hood going crazy. I live a block from the dealership that had 150 car mostly hellcats stolen from back in March.

So I can't send you the template as I'm not done with it and we still have roll out plates for a group buy.
As far as anyone else running one for a Fwd trans that's gonna be a firm I doubt it. Not that is hasn't been done but as far as I'm aware there was only one pate ever made(its was fwd) outside of mine right now. No body here though/thinks it's possible to do a2b that's why if you look back(here and different forms) you'll see how much effort it took them to make the one they did away back when. It took year's just to track Jason budd(haveanosday) and Johnny o down to ask questions about it and find out that it end up in the trash a year or less before I got a hold of them. But to answer you're questions about what parts will be used in the a2b all B series drivetrain parts will be used. Along with a custom trans plate, custom flywheel spacer, modified oem honda flywheel bolts, a custom intermediate half staft mounting plate and modifications must be made to the stock rear mount as well. I'm sure I'm leaving out a bunch of details and information but I'll will up date the main a2b post here soon and drop that info there for all to have a chance to pick it apart.

Side note the reasoning behind the awd drive transmission.

Price $550 shipped. the trans, cables shifter, halfshaft. You can pull the transfer case off and keep it fwd if you not going awd but always leavesthe opinionfor awd. You can put fwd gears sets in the awd transmission with a modified shifter fork from speed factory. Cables shifter vs the linkage much easier to work with and leave most room for 3in exhaust and Driveshaft for awd. The factory rear mount is pretty close to a Direct bolt on and once I have the feeling once I get 100% complete plate it's likely just redrilling the mount holes to fit the plate is all you have to do fwd would require some cutting and weld. And fit meant over is just better then expected and better then the fwd ls trans I tried.

Been a while since it been in front of my place so here a couple photos. Don't worry those are just rolling wheels so I don't mess up my good ones.

Cometic will not make an a20 MLS gasket. I offered to buy 20 of them, they still declined. They do have copper though.

With copper does the block have to be O ringed with Aluminum head and iron block. Im always curious about that.

At 478 horse power I'd say yes. Below that no.
I'm running 33psi so the gasket didn't hold with out o ringing it. I'm getting head work done with o-rings and I may go to 40 or 50 psi.

So the block came with a bunch of HG I would assume that those are Cometic gaskets. That's also why it's in yellow because no green
