So far, my search for a compatible USDM clutch release bearing has come up empty. I have one to look at but I have to give it back when I am done. I'm going to Honda in the next couple days to see if they can source one out but if I can't get one from them or through my relatives in Japan, I am going to have to use the USDM modified bearing.
Anyways, my question is: to make the USDM fit, Mike grinded off the tabs the return spring hooks onto (to slide it back and away from the pressure plate when you release the clutch pedal) because it sticks out too much (too wide). So basically, it will not slide back on it's own after you release the pedal. Is this still going to work safely or is this asking for really fast premature wearing???
