Didn't get to scavenge Saturday..Rained out at the Junk Yard. Did make the local car show here Today. Check this crazy Turbo set-up on an Acura that I helped fab up for my friend Dave.[IMG][/IMG][IMG]

Another Honda.[IMG][/IMG]
Progress Update. Got some more parts pulled off the car this weekend. Also wanted to share a pic of my other Honda. My Beloved 1982 Honda CBX Supersport. Only had 12K on it when Hurricane Katrina decided to take it. I looked for 3 days and never found even a piece of her. I was living in Bay Saint Louis, MS .Less than a 1/4 mile from the beach. The storage garage I had it in was wiped to the slab.

That's pretty kewl! Looks like you know what you're doing.
Thanks Speedpenguin, Having a hell of a time getting the speed sensor out of the 5 speed. Got the 10 mm bolt out it rotates good , just cant get it to pop up and out. Gonna get back at it after dinner...

sould just be able to rotate and pull up at the same time
Yeah. Got it out after dinner. Just needed some nudging. About ready to pull the block and trans now.

Ahhh the fun part. The pulling of the block and tranny...good luck man.

Thanks, Should be easy. Gonna have all the front suspension off first. Had both front coil springs broke, so gonna freshen up the suspension while I am at it.

Just a quick bump. Gonna pull the engine and trans tonight or tomorrow morning.
Gonna clean up and detail the whole engine bay also. Looking to design and refab the engine mounts in aluminum. I will post the CAD renderings soon.

1988 Honda Accord LX-i Coupe 123k miles.
wow its good to see some one just getting right into a project, and actually doing what they are saying
gl!
Thanks. I do want this to be a Build diary of sorts. Have Digi Camera. Why not post it up. I want to do the car up right. I think it is clean enough to do a restoration to. I am also interested in designing alot of replacement parts for our 3G's. Looking into making a complete rear disc kit. so we don't have to scavenge for SEi donors. I have 20 years CAD experience and CNC at my disposal, so why not do it. Look forward to your thoughts and comments.

I have the same car but auto and almost everything is still factory, which is what is causing so many issues. Wish i had a FI!!
I don't know where my Carb setup will take me. I bought this car for $30 not running, so we will see how it goes when I finish the new motor build. I kinda want to stay carbed, but the FI is appealing for many other reasons.

Part renderings. Here are a few shots of the rear upper mount I did in CAD. Anodized Blue Aluminum?

looks good man that's awesome that you have a CAD machine at your disposal you can make anything. i'm sure i wouldn't be the only one that would be buying a rear disc kit if you made ones up to sell so that's definitely a good idea on that. good luck with everything man.

As soon as I find and buy all the SEI Rear components for the brake swap. I will shoot everything into CAD and see what I can come up with. Working on a set of front and rear strut tower bars right now. I will post them up soon.

id buy a rear disk setup if its done right and not overly expensive
My thread has turned into a two fold project. As I read the posts here, I see there is a need for, or lack of trick functional components for the 3G. As I rebuild my 89, I am documenting and putting in all the dimensions of parts into CAD. Once my engine build is done and installed, I want to move to the suspension, and the rear Disc swap. That is when I will see if it is feasible to fabricate and machine those parts for the rear suspension. The other "Bling" parts, I can do all day, Trick Aluminum motor mounts, Strut bars, and various other brackets. Those are more cosmetic, with exception to the strut bars. Could have some fun with designs there for sure. I look forward to the input and suggestions for parts that we wont be able to find that I could reproduce.
