B20A-brown top and black top intake manifolds

right heres the thing...since the search function sucks and i cdnt find anything.......

someone was saying the blacktop acord b20a has 145 hp and the gold top has 160.... and the blacktop has more torque than the gold....right with that i can see 2 diffrences... the intake manifold and the tappet cover.... it wont be the rocker cover but all i want to know is: does the later 88-89 blacktop engines intake manifold steal high end hp to make low end torque... the reason i wanna know this is im thinking of putting one on my gold top b20a.. but i still wanna keep the 160hp up the top end where it belongs

just trying to gather info since my engines being a cunt and im gunna take the easy way out and swap them lol

our manifolds are the same as the a20a3 ones, the 86-87 a20a3 makes 110hp and the 88-89 a20a3 makes 120hp (i think) along with the vacuum advance vs. electric advance dizzys

and this is vice versa with the b20a, i dont get that lol, must be something else, i remember reading that the ECU's are different in the black top vs gold top b20's thread

you dont need a dyno.....just...have some one hold a cup of water outside the car....and what ever engine drops the most water is the most fastest...

I'm sure they're the same... they just revised the SAE measurements and they realised it made 145 HP.

That's just funny how the 3G prelude is the same engine but makes 145 hp huh? The F22B Makes 160 too and the DOHC F20A makes 150 (4th gen Accord).
