No it's still going, but very slow. Lots and lots of bills to pay lately so not much left for the aerodeck.

I've concluded that it's impossible to mount a sedan door lock motor in the aerodeck drivers door. So reluctantly I had to install an aftermarket one instead.

    Re: thegreatdanes Aerodeck restoration project

Taking out the windshield. It wasnt cracked but it was a bit scratched. I guess from some bad wiper blades. And we dont like scratches.. so that's getting replaced.

Out. Cracked in all sorts of ways now...

Got one of the rear quarter glass'es out as well. There's a trim molding attached to it that wont come off without removing the glass, so in order to get it painted underneath that trim the glass needs to come off.

It was a real bitch to cut that window out because you need to be careful not damaging any of the trim that's attached to it and also be carefull not to break the glass. obtained a few cuts in teh process.. And there's the other quarter glass I need to remove tomorrow. You can see the trim molding that's in the way.

More or less gutted. The roof lining goes out as well and the sunroof unit. Look at those stock pos rear speakers lol.

I hacked up my EDM bumper support and adapted it to the 88-89 bumper cover. The EDM bumper support weighs one hell of a lot less than the usdm bumper support since the EDM one is basically just a flat bar and there's no foam guts inside the bumper either. (maybe it's the same with the 86-87 USDM bumper support as well?)

haha. oh well good things take time

i dont suppose you have any ideas about whether accord sedan brake lines are the same as aerodeck ones????

How easy are they to swap as there is an aerodeck i am interested in but all the brake lines are chopped at the prop valve.

The brake lines are the same, but they are a bitch to replace. You need to pull everything behind the dash and half the interior to get them out.

It would be much easier to just install brake line joints on the remains of the old lines and use copper lines where the old ones have been cut off.

    Re: thegreatdanes Aerodeck restoration project

Modifying the left side wiring for OBD1 and wiretuck. Because there was only 1 slot open for an extra pin in the existing connectors and I needed to add 5 extra wires I swapped out the small engine wire harness connector for a large one so there's now 2 large connectors. I'm using shielded wire for the extra sensor of course.

    Repaired some rust here:

The sunroof opening was rusted here in the joint where I've replaced the sheetmetal. Unfortunately the rust has attacked the roof panel from the underside in this area as well, and I could easily see that causing the paint starting to bubble within a couple of years if not attended to. So I'm in deep with that one since you dont just start cutting and welding in the roof panel. It will woble like hell and the panel shape is very hard to copy and has to be very precise at the same time. So I'm just delaying that job until I figure something out.

    Re: thegreatdanes Aerodeck restoration project

Here's the mount supports for my gas hood struts. The hood has been cut up and reinforced from the inside. I used a civic ED9 hood lifter kit which is very far from being able to fit, but if you want to avoid drilling an extra hole in your fenders for easier mounting you will need very long gas struts, which I dont think would look very good.

Here the turn signal holes in the fenders have been welded shut.

I've removed all the wiring harness from the car and getting ready to remove the brake lines as well. The hatch door has been disassembled with both windows cut out -that was a major pain..
