I will be getting a job soon and one of the first things I want to do to the 3G is put a performance or sport braking system on it. Any suggestions?

No "performance" bolt ons for our cars. You will benefit from an 88-89 LX-i front setup and rear SE-i discs. You will need the front and rear spindles with lines and cables, 88-89 LX-i or SE-i master, and an SE-i prop valve. If you're not happy with this you can check out Legend_master's thread: https://www.3geez.com/forum/showthrea...#pos%20t670237 . Either way you will need to upgrade the spindles and master for larger brakes.

1989 Honda Accord LX-i
B18c1 swap since 7/2011
175whp and 132tq
Redzone tuned
Or you'd have to go custom like mine if you wanted something more racey like 4 pot billet calipers and two piece disks.

Legend, are the 88-89 usable with the 87 LX-i I have? There is nothing under their 86-87 sections.

Bugger me thats cool cost half the amount i paid to have mine made!! Go for that dude but word of advice don't buy wilwood get the brembo setup instead. Wonder if those brackets would fit my 1.8 Carbed 2nd Gen Preludes? any ideas i heard that LXI calipers are direct bolt on to 2nd gen lude knuckles or that even the LXI accord knuckles can be swapped over.

Why Wilwood not good?Originally Posted by rjudgey
Yes, Brembo is attractive but I wanted know if there is good reason to justify spending same amount as my car itself!
This guy also ship to abroad so great news for us country boys!
I just put a new Master Cylinder on it like 2 weeks ago.Originally Posted by LX-incredible

I like wilwood, but I would be worried if they ever went out of business, because you have to use specially designed wilwood brake pads. I know brembo is not going anywhere.Originally Posted by epic1400cs

Some of the wilwood calipers dont have dust seals so they will need a rebuild often for street use. I also have heard there not even as stiff as stock calipers. I know some of there street brake kits are marginal on 60's muscle cars.Originally Posted by Legend_master

yep they flex thats why i don't like them as well as no dust seals so need more TLC than most.
I used my big brake kit on stock DL prelude brakes works perfect great feel, not too over powered couldnt have been better match having a bigger master cylinder isn't allways needed. Although the rear brakes could definately do with beefing up 300mm up front with 4 pot calipers is a bit of an inbalance compared to the rears!!
fastbrakes has a listing for an 11" willwood setup with 4 pot calipers w/ dust seals. Any input?
