Audio gear for my 3G (pictures)

    Sold the Honda Torneo

But not before I ripped all the car audio and wheels off it

    MTX Thunder 4320
    40 watts RMS * 4 @ 4 ohms (probably higher)

    Rockford Fosgate P6001 class D
    600 watts RMS @ 2 ohms

    Kenwood KDC-X7529
Tripple preouts, adjustable crossovers on all channels, 24 bit brown burr D/A converters etc etc

    DLS components (front)
    DLS two way speakers (rear)
    60 watts RMS
    outboard crossovers on both sets

    Alpine 10" Type-X
    1000 watts RMS
This thing barely fits in it's enclosure

And some wheels which have nothing to do with car audio :P Can't really put them on the 3G unless I change to a lower profile tyre

That's the plan, but gotta get an alarm fitted first. Otherwise it will become someone else's sound system

That would be overkill for a car like this in this country :P Would be cool though. Flashing LED will keep most thieves away.

The car spends most of it's time in my garage anyway.

The rims are 17 * 7 with a 45 offset. They would fit the 3G just fine if I changed the tyres to 215/40/17.

it Means he only thinks black people would steal his stuff?

Sorry but I believe all races can steal as much as they want

I live in a area where whites are the big problem, don't judge by race, judge by each persons actions!

Re: Audio gear for my 3G (pictures)

A ported box is only an upgrade if you like deep boomy bass. I prefer it nice and tight :P

I've installed 3 new RCA cables and a bunch of speaker cable, but the speakers are too big for the pods so I gotta get something made up. Oh well, not much longer.

Re: Audio gear for my 3G (pictures)

Well the rear pods had to be slightly customized, a thin MDF spacer was insertd in to them to raise the speaker by about 2mm. Without this the speakers were slightly too wide to fit. The covers still fit on

The front pods had to be made from scratch. They are just a thin MDF board in the shape of the original plastic basket, and a round thick MDF spacer on top of that. Once again the speakers were just too big.

Only one of the front components has been completed, so the fronts aren't hooked up yet.

The sub is deeper than it is wide :O 1000w RMS ftw.

Re: Audio gear for my 3G (pictures)

And coming soon, this Sony SACD/DVD player. Now I can finally listen to my high res SACD and DVD Audio collection in the car Not that I have that many

It won't actually play DVD Audio, however most of my DVD Audio discs also include a DTS track of the same 5.1 recording. It may be compressed, but it's better than nothing.

It's other features match my kenwood. 3 pairs of RCA, 4 volt outputs, 24 bit DAC.
