    Tranny Oil Cooler

How would a 4th gen tranny oil cooler work in conjunction to our 3geez, it seems like an ok design.

I don't see why it wouldn't as long as you run the lines correctly. I put a b&m oil cooler on my car for when I drop the built motor in along with the 5 speed swap the I done. I also have one for the power steering fluid. The small ones fit nicely under the plastic inner fender pieces near the horn mounts.

isnt the power steering cooler in ours kind of like the picture without the fins in our car the one in front of both the condensor and radiator?

Yeah, I believe so, and it looks like crap, plus it takes up space in front. I replaced mine and it made the front end look cleaner and less cluddered.

i thought so too but on ebay the seller states that it's a tranny oil cooler, in any case how would the functionality for a tranny oil cooler be, I'm thinking not so well in idle because no fan.

They work, I ran mine through the radiator first and then through the cooler. The fan will still come on at idle, so it will still run cooler, even between the fan cycles. Most of your heat will be generated while at speed anyway.

which cooler did you use and why didn't you just bypass the radiator alltogether?

It's a 4" X 12" hayden, if I remember correctly. I went through the radiator first to bring it down to coolant temp, lowering the tempature of the fluid going to the external cooler.

    Re: Tranny Oil Cooler

the main issue could be thermal efficiency

the hayden cooler that LX-incredible has employs a larger cooling surface. which means greater heat dissapation.

    just posted pics also...
