    B20a 5 speed tranny thread

As you guys know I've been trying to find a 5 speed tranny for my B20a. Well I'm still looking for one. It seems like Lebon86lxi is giving me the run around. It's been over a month now since I have contacted him with money in hand and he still hasn't got a shipper yet. Im just asking everyone to keep their eyes open for one even you New Zealand members who can get a bellhousing shipped here to the U.S. Carotman hopefully you can run into one on your end also. I've been really patient with this project but I really need for someone to come through.

I haven't forgotten you, I always check for B18A powered 3gs on trademe to try and get another cheap tranny. Just nothing much comes up, they are a rare car :(

Thanks Steve. Its funny I registered on Trade Me myself last night to see if any were listed too. I had to put a fake address and phone# to register. And I said that I was from Christchurch too lol.

If your real desperate pick up an automatic for the time being and run that until you can get a tranny or a bell housing. I worked on my spare tranny and i would like to get an A20 tranny to swap gears and to verify they all fit but i dont have the extra cash to play around with. Like i said i would sell my spare but i want good money for it and i got ripped off myself from SPI Tuning when i bought it myself.

Really?? How 's it been going Rjudgey? Seems like you have been out of the loop for a while. I think we need to do a B20a 5 speed tranny group buy cause we don't have any over here

Re: B20a 5 speed tranny thread

You can get things its just a matter of how much money you have. I did a large OEM JDM parts order from japan a few years ago and i got a lot of stuff air frieght in a week or so to my door but i paid like $400 or something stupid in shipping.

I might be able to source some trannies out of japan but i dont think they would be cheap unless i get in good with this guy. My uncle knows a guy that imports containers of crashed EVO's and such for ralley cars and iv been trying to meet up with him but have not yet. I might try to get in contact with him because he goes to japan himself to pick out cars to ship back state side.

I would but I don't think it will be worth it. Shipping alone will kill the deal plus I don't think Jb weld will do the job for that piece. It will be better to get a whole new bellhousing

Re: B20a 5 speed tranny thread

Ever tried asking honda howmuch a new gearbox would be if they have any left? probably wouldn't be too bad and it would be new? Anyways still think it's worth looking around the U.K. but anyways B20A project is scrapped for me have sold all the parts to another fellow B20A lude owner but don't worry will still be building a couple of B20A's for some silly power. I have found myself a really really mint 2nd Gen carbed lude with 30k miles and will be tinkering around with that from now on so will be concentrating on A20 engines only for the time being!! But still can have stainless steel Weber or ITB inlet manifolds made for you guy's if you need em!!

check out this for my new car!!

Re: B20a 5 speed tranny thread

Not at the minute trying to see if i can get some Mugen CF-48's for it then other than custom header and exhaust in stainless going to leave it alone really, maybe drop a mild cam into it and some headwork if the head gasket blows, get it upto JDM spec which is 125bhp but should be higher with a good exhaust and header upto maybe 135-140 with the sidedraughts, then maybe if they start playing up switch to the webers. Want to keep it looking real stock and sleeper then go to town with the suspension and brakes.

But yeah it's really sweet so looks like i won't be joining the 3Geez club not for a while anyways!! Unless one comes along thats a really good deal. and no wont be putting in a B20A they don't drop into 2G preludes as easily as 3G accord, the B20A 2G lude is more like 2.5G it's structuraly a lot different to the carbed and USDM 2.0 SI. I'll still be doing development work on the B20A and if anyone wants to pay for materials and machining work and the postage and doesn't mind waiting quite a few months i'd be more than happy to do heads for you guy's still B20A or A20A.

Yeah I feel like women who have to wait for 9 months before they give birth to a child lol. They get all happy and excited when the child finally gets here. I still need a rear tranny mount but I think the shop that I'm working with can come up with something and a full gasket set.
