Sanded the left fender, needs another layer or two of filler.
Removed all the wiring, I want to rewire/replace any old corroded wires/connectors
Removed the dash also.
I bought few rolls of these:
It is used to fix roof leaks and stuffs like that. It is the exact same material (tar) as the sound deadening stuffs. The price? RM16/roll which equals to US$4.44!! The only downside is its small (50mmx10m). But damn, its CHEAP even if you bought 20 rolls - which is probably what I'm going to buy later to cover the entire interior!
Thats all for today, my back hurts again after that lol
And yeah did I mention that stuff is CHEAP!?
great stuff
Nice work! Since you removed all your wiring, you should just pull the engine and repaint the engine bay and your engine. Make it look all shiny and new again!
I wish I could do thatOriginally Posted by 2ndGenGuy
I don't have enough tools to do so.
Washed the engine bay, and ready to tape everything that can't be removed..
I spent 2 hours+ cleaning it up and then....
FUCK! the fucking AC pipe broke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you know how pissed I am right now?
Now I need to wash my engine bay again and the entire car because the fucking pipe sprayed freon everywhere and I need to spend more $$$ to get that fucking pipe fixed!
Yikes! That could get pretty tricky. I know that coolant lines are sensitive and leak easy due to the high pressure. You might wanna get that looked at by someone who really knows A/C. I would be pretty pissed too, but I would put it off until after the paintwork is done!
bah who needs A/C i live by death valley and i got no A/C w000t

No way I'm going to live without AC lol. Its really hot here.
Now ugh, the whole left side of the body is oily as fuck and I don't even know when I'm going to clean it off. I took early leave from work yesterday just to work on my car. I thought that we could at least paint the engine bay his weekend.. Now I am going to waste my weekend to clean the mess off. And that same pipe is recently replaced due to leak less than a year ago
Looking on the bright side, I might remove the compressor to gain ccess on the right hand side to paint the engine bay
Edit: is it okay to leave the AC system empty for few weeks? I plugged the hole already. I'm going to reseal it again so moisture or some shits wont get into it.

I would say just make sure it is sealed so no dirt or moisture can get in there.Originally Posted by Hazwan

Very annoying.
I'm still surprised your AC compressor is mounted up there. All my Accords & Preludes with AC have their alternator mounted there when fitted with AC, with the heavier compressor mounted down low. Either way I'm glad the Accord has good ventilation so I can do without (my CRX has crap ventilation, more glass & NEEDS its Automatic AC & fan running or window open).
Hey how did you tuck your engine bay wiring? Its clean! Any tips/tricks?Originally Posted by 79cord

I did go a little silly there & partially unwrap the left hand side wiring harness, running some inside the plenum & pulling the rest back through its hole in the firewall into the interior of the car & drilling a small hole in the firewall through to the inside of the left side frame rail & routed the harness through that with another small hole for the alternator & engine wiring & the rest continuing to the end for the lights, light wiring & connectors outside body behind grille.
I had to remove some connectors while pulling through & refit them afterwards, & bend a small reinforcement inside the rail around the bumper mountings.
Of course the fact this car has no power steering Air-con options helped.
Emissions charcoal canister moved from in front of left wheel-arch to the little crevice behind & its bracket removed.
Battery & washer bottle relocated from the big bracket above the right frame rail (with all its hard to clean & rusty crevices) to sit on simple new bracket on / in front of crossmember and the old bracket removed.
Right side harness just wrapped in the convoluted tube wrapping available & run along top of right frame rail (always meant to make of an alloy cover for this & never did)
Also made up a sheet aluminium panel to smooth & clean up the firewall & hide what wiring remained there.

w00t! Bought the paint today.
I think the color is similar to halxi's civic? BTW the color is a little darker than that. Thanks to my phone for screwing up the color..
Theres a lot more to be done.. can't wait!!!!
wow cant wait
Ha I can't wait either lol. But I'm not rushing things. I want it look perfect!
BTW the color is "Honda Smash Orange Pearl"
Hi Hazwan
Great job, so far!
The car is nearly totally stripped, why didn't you checked the bended suspension first? Is there no body shop near you, it can not be so expensive, I would do this before painting. I can send scans of the body repair manual, if you like.
The gold paint looks great, but light metalic paints and especially gold are very hard to repair later. I think, I had choosed an original Honda color...
Do you paint the engine bay too?
Good luck, Detlef
