why thank you. she needs her leather cleaned and carpet as well
Yeah clean man! You've just got the typical Honda rusty wheel arches. First member with the elusive 83 SE! Probably rarer than the 85 SEi even. I like the rims. They look like some period-correct ones. The stock SE rims were pretty nice too though. I always wondered if the 83 came with a Bose stereo too. Looks like you at least had the factory EQ. Do you still have the factory deck? Is the sunroof powered? And did the 83 get power mirrors? I noticed the 83 SE doens't have the remote gas door opener like the 85 SEi.
heck yeah, seems like everyday i keep finding new gems about this! do you think it was worth 1100? i dont know if it has a bose system. everything you see, it came with. no power mirrors, yes the sunroof is powered. thanks
my beautiful optima i just put in with better battery wires
just a pic of my uber clean firewall
the head is off
look at how clean the cylinders are i was surprised
i purple powered the head a bit
broken head bolt (25 bucks btw) and broken mount bolts (i knew it would happen)

Sweet! Glad to see the progress! There is one reason when you do a head gasket that the cylinders are usually clean. When water has been leaking in and getting burned, it "steam cleans" the cylinders. It really blasts the carbon out of the cylinders.
The other theory is due to the CVCC system. Since CVCC is a lean-burn system, it's possible that the fuel is just burning really clean, and not leaving any deposits. Not sure if that's true, but it's possible.
Also, as for that head, did you check and make sure it's not warped? It's not easy to see with the naked eye, need a professional straight-edge... It's very common for that to happen with a blown head gasket on these motors. You replace the head and it blows out again not too far down the road...
woot progress rocks

progress indeed, but id rather spend it making it betterwith my job i dont have much time to do this. now i have a problem, i need proper diagrams for my vacume lines and radiator hoses (im sure my hoses are correct, but need assurance.) when i start her up dies after a few minutes. im thinking it vacume. what yall think, and please send me a good diagram please. maybe a pic of yer 83 layout. i dont know, but i need line numbers blah blah...... im such a bad mechanic.
Definitely sounds like a vacuum leak. If you don't like the vacuum lines, you should pick up a Weber carb and an adapter plate. Then you'll only have the brake booster line, and the vacuum line to the distributor.![]()
Nice..looks like a new motor damn. Like john saying it has to be a vacum leak. something wrong. little old skool trick spary some carb clean or break clean around the vac lines if you hear the motor rev up theres your line. works sometimes. i did it a couple times i found very hard vacum leaks.
200+ ALL MOTOR LS VTEC
Nice & clean
That wheels looks like smaller version of fat fives lol
