I've got a local farmer who will let my use his steam cleaner on my engine bay if i want, but I'm not sure...will the heat or water harm any of my parts? I know to keep away from the distributor and computer stuff.

So what is the best way to clean 13 years of crap from an engine bay?

A light degreaser and no more presure than you get out of your hose. I use the castrol degreaser in the squirt bottle it works fantasticly and there is more in the bottle than in the aresol cans.
