    Re: Roodoo2 LX pics, project

That thing is compressed in there so tite the axle has to come out to get it to clear... I hate doing shit twice.

Edit... Go ahead and save yourself headache by taking loose the sway bar link and the radius rod if you plan on taking a spring strut out...you can drop the whole lower arm out of the way.

Got the left side done, top hats were the issue, these springs behave much better on stock hats.

Ok, I got the front springs situated, and it drives like a dream!!!
Now it needs alignmernt, and I can proceed with the interior color change, and exterior refinish work. It isn't as low as it was but it definately lowered and with no sacrifice to ride quality that I can tell. Hey new Koings!

    Re: Roodoo2 LX pics, project

doing some rattle can work this past week, SEM products are awesome, I don't have any pics yet but Im working on the interior door panels today and nit picking little things on the exterior in prep or paint...

Hood is soon to be removed and have a huge hole cut in it for a shaker scoop or at least a functional scoop, and grill replaced, that is why Im not doing any refinish work to it yet

IT is HOT, if any of you know what these are, these are no joke, my friend from Guam gave me some seedlings

anybody want to suggest what size tire I should go with, right now the 205/50/16 do rub some but I don't really want to put any more negative camber in the back but I do like the tires tucked just under the lip like they are. What size, 195/50? I don't want to lose much tire, not going for rubber bands.

Car's looking pretty tight, Roo. Can't help you with the tire size. Sorry.

205/45 ought to fit. They should still look pretty good and not be too rubber bandy.

I got 195/50R16 on mine. Pretty much stock diameter and width on a fancy rim but that's what I wanted.

well the material came in and it is identical to the seat material, the light in the house doens't do it justice though... Now I will remove all the door panels and take them apart, dye the vinyl parts with SEM Color Coat, cut the material to match the cloth part and have an outline design sewn in then glue them in place. Also will replace the carpeted portion of the door panel to match the black carpet I got from Mase's car as well.
Note I have the material sideways on the panel for the picture, the pattern goes upright as it does on the seats.

Re: Roodoo2 1986 LX Metamorphosis project

Let's .wait and see how mine turn out first LOL, I'm real excited to get these going because I love tastefully done custom interiors. The cool thing is the materials textures and patterns themselves are so close to OEM ones over the years, but the color combos are unique.

Also I can't remember how the two tone interior dashes were done on those coupes, was it black on top or on bottom, I always liked the look on those... Im going with graphite on everything above the midpoint and black on everything below. Ive already messed up some on that because I dyed the armrests graphite and they attach directly on the cloth part of the panel, ok so black is supposed to be the contrasting color against the blue as the seats are.

The good thing is I am STILL motivated on this project, which is amazing considering all of the distractions. I have enough parts and materials to do plenty without having to spend any more money on it this year..

I believe it was black on top, and wrapped around the top of the doors. Can't remember how the a and b pillars were colored tho.

The coupes only had the top of the dash black and the door panels were tan.

My coupe is also tan around the top. I've seen coupes at the yard with black around the top though. Can't say if they came from the factory that way though.

Re: Roodoo2 1986 LX Metamorphosis project

More work done today. Removed all the weatherstrip, cleaned and sanded door jambs on right side. Taped and masked for paint.
Painted four coats of Diamont Poly, but I forgot this was 2 stage paint, it was some I had on hand. It looks ok but it is flat with a luster, heh I may leave it flat because I have seen Japanese cars done like this no gloss in the jambs but only on the outside. Meh I dunno I may come back with some clear when I start detailing it... anyhew I put the new reconditioned door panels on. I got a lot done today! Enjoy

92 GMC truck, BASF Diamont Bc
I sanded out some on the quarter panel before I started so I could see how it would look. I wound up pouring out a gun cup full of mixed paint so I wish I preped a little more of the car on that side.
It has a little extra pearl and sparkle added to the factory color so im told.

Re: Roodoo2 1986 LX Metamorphosis project

moar werk done yes !!! fn finally got above 65 deg here so I jumped on the right side door jambs and went on and basecoated the two doors and quarter panel with the blue

I love this paint, sprays like silk and glows in the light, still think it needs clear coating? I have to finish base coating the rest of the car thats going to be blue lol

I think this is going to be okay after the detail work.. yes I painted the chrome, if it won't stay then I can always pop it off and have it dipped in carbon fiber vinyl
