    86 Accord won't stay running...

    86 Accord - Carburated

When I turn the ignition and gas my car, I can get it to stay running. If I let my foot off the gas enough for the rpm's to drop below 3,000 the car will shut down. Sometimes it sputters for a bit before shutting down. I have recently adjusted my timing belt. I set the cam pulley to where it says up was pointing up and the two lines across it were level with the head. I also set the marks through the hole at the transmission, lining up the pointer with the line that has a 'T' next to it. I've tried to move the position of the distributor but nothing seems to keep it running at normal idle speed. Please help!

look for the carb thread and then print out the checklist and then check your carb. Check you vacuum lines, etc. then go from there. Have you checked your fuel filters? Here is the link for the checklist.

This will get you started. By all means use the search thread. I was having the same problem, but have since found the problem and gotten things back together again.
