Depends what kind of mods you want to do down the road. A port and polish will work well with I/H/E first then you can get a cam and adj cam gear.

    Re: port and polished

I would try upgrading the carb and header, then move to a cam+camgear. Then if you feel you want to spend more money on the car, then go for the Port and polish.

    Re: port and polished

The thing to remember is that engines are just air pumps. To increase overall flow you need to increase flow everywhere for any real benefit. Do the carb and exhaust first (if it's still stock). Then header. Then if you want to get more serious do a full rebuild with a good 3 angle valve job and cleaned up ports. With the A20 you don't really need to make the ports any bigger, just cleaned up and reshaped a bit. Most of the improvement is around the valves and not the ports.
