are the zip-ties in the engine bay necessary? If you do need them for some reason, switch to black zip ties and trim the ends off

u need to sand the top lines on your valve cover

i had that same valve cover paint job, but i switched it to black but in turn i did a shitty job on the black so props for the even and smooth paint job

i know it is a new starting point and there well not be very much more progress but this thread well also be for the replacement car

Here is a bit of constructive criticism. Your center console is going to peel. It looks like the prep work was very minimal. If you want the paint job to last, you need to prep better.


Also, on the e-brake handle, did you use a flexible paint agent since the handle is a softer material, or did you just shoot it with the same type of paint as the rest of the console?



Your heat shield is going to fade. Unless you bought header paint(VHT, POR 20) it will look bad.

but agian it dont sound like hes giving cah that much of a hard time like alot of others just some harsh advice...rather cah takes it or not... but cah will get better as he learns more...... maybe his 3G will get AOM one of these years lol

1 yes i did prep it
2 no i did not use flexable pait it is the same paint i used on my metro and it lasted the whole time i owned the car
3 the heat shield was painted with high temp paint and even if it fades it well still look beter then it did all rusted and shit
4 the car is only going to be used for 1-2 months then it well be sold
