whats the cheapest way to drop my car 2"inches(88 lxi hatchback)
I hate questions like this. Because to answer it as asked, I have to say something I don't like. Cheapest way is to cut the spings.Originally posted by syn4la5

BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!! Do this, look at the top of this screen. Next to home, you will see search, click on it and type in cutting springs and run a search. Read all the post's on the subject, ALL OF THEM.
In case you've allready ruled out cut springs. The cheapest way to lower 2 inches is to purchase a set of Suspension Techniques speed tech 2" drop springs for $97 from www.nopionline.com
I'll tell ya right now you need to change the struts on the car, if you don't the car will have bounce and have control issues. And the added stress of stiffer lowering springs is a know cause to greatly accelerate the distruction of factory struts (and weak after market one's to). If you going to do it you should wait untill you can afford to do it right. Koni struts in the front and you can save a few bucks and run tokico's in the rear. And no the Tokico's are to soft to run in the front with lowering springs, they will bounce and have control issues. When you drop more than 2" you need to correct your front camber. Either pick up a pair of 2nd gen prelude control arms and some washers or purchase a pair of front eibach camber kits for $100 from www.tirerack.com
H&R springs revalved Bilstein front struts, koni struts in the rear 195/55-15 Dunlop W-10's Dc Sports header custom cat-back with Dynomax super turbo w/3" Brembo slotted & dimpled rotor's EBC pads
Well, that's what I used to have, wrecked, 7/3/02.

Say man dont cut your springs.
And those suspension tech springs I got from nopi had my car looking the same as before.
So I cut the front ones.......
As you can see in my sig pic it looks damn good.
But I'm startin to get annoyed by the bouncin
I'm go on ahead and admit it you know. even though I'm downgradin my ride.
But get lowering springs and a camber kit.
I'm gettin coils in a minit so I'ma b straight.
What do you mean the S/T springs had the car looking the same as before? You must be talking about how the front "LOOKS" higher than the rear. What kind of stuff rides in your trunk?Originally posted by jigga225

Curious, do you think your getting bounce from the rear as well?
I know the tokico's aren't firm enough for the front, but so far they seam to work ok in the rear. Do me a favor, run out to your car and do a strut test. Grab onto the trunk lid in the middle and shove down as hard as you can. when it come up, does it stop or does it bounce to a stop?

I'm styin the s/t springs didnt even look lowered to me. and I was mad that I just spent close to $500 on springs struts prelude arms and stuff and it still was sitting high.
No the rear is ok. It's just the froint that bounces. And my subs with box weighs I know it must be close to 75 pounds.
I did the test youre talkin about and the back doesnt bounce, it just raises up once, a little slow.
The front bounces tho.
my springs are cut, i used the tokico 1'' drop and cit 1 coil off them, my ride is really stiff and it corners great
Here's a step by step guide on how to drop the car 2" without purchasing any unnecessary aftermarket products:
1. Lift the car 2" from the ground.
2. Let go.
I hope this was helpful.
