Some pics of the new paint job!! Before and after (56k beware)

I saw this car sitting in a guys yard for months and months and after bugging him for awhile he finally let it go and I paid $1110 for it but it needed a wheel 4 lugs and studs, a side mirror, side moldings from a small accident, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, brakes, stereo, tires, paint, and a few other little things. I have about $2000 into it now but it was a one owner car with NO RUST and 80k miles. I love the car so far I have put approx 1500 miles on it, great gas mileage and lots of looks for some reason. Enjoy the pics..

    before...

    after...

    and my other car...

Thanks for the complimens guys and yea the AT was kind of a bummer but if I need some speed with a MT I'll hop in the Z (haven't put 20 miles on it since I picked up this lol). I need to do a tranny fluid swap too it shifts a little rough into second and sometimes downshifts while making turns. Actually I'm gonna go do that now, off to the dealer again. By the way there is a huge junkyard close to me with a bunch of these cars in it so let me know if you guys need anything and I'll keep an eye out. I'll check back with you guys later........

Nice. I saw your thread on Honda-tech. That's a good buy for how much you spent on it. That paint looks good (in the pictures), especially considering how much you paid for it.

Toneloc^^^^yea man someone turned me on to this site so I figured I'd frequent here instead of honda-tech. I just got back from the dealer with the AT fluid I hope this makes it a little better, nothing's feels terribly wrong with the tranny but I figured this might not be a bad thing to do. The guy at the stealership said these were very good tranny's and they all shift hard into second so I have nothing to worry about.

From what I was told all you have to do is get under the car with a jack, lift, etc and there is a drain plug under the tranny housing somewhere (I'm sure I'll find it) and a ratchet fits right in there to remove the plug remove plug to drain and then there is a fill plug in the general area of the drain plug. My friend and I are going to do it at 5 so I'll let you know later but I was told it is a very easy job.

Thanks man. As far as changing the fluid on an AT car, I'm not sure since mine's a Manual. . But if it's the same as a manual car, and I think it is, then you just drive the car for a little to get the fluid warm, the drain it from the drain plug and the new fluid through the dipstick hole. The fluid capacity is 3.2 qt's or 3 liters.

well yea im saying what im going ot do is drain the old fluid, then pour in the new fluid to push the rest of the old fluid out so only the new fluid is in there, called flushing.

Re: Some pics of the new paint job!! Before and after (56k beware)

As for the tranny fluid you just use a ratchet to remove the drain plug which is located right behind the passenger front wheel I also added a little to flush out the old fluid. You add fluid about a foot below the battery I had to use a wrench because it was very tight. All in all took about 30 minutes.

^^^^cool next time your around the way let me know and yes it's base clear. WOW is all I can say after driving the car a bit more. It's amazing the difference in shifting between first and second I would say it is 110% better so I would say if you haven't done this go to the closest Honda dealer get some tranny fluid and you'll be amazed. I swear I didn't get paid to say that. lol
