    Re: k20 swap

tobad you wernt near me, i'd love to work on somthing like that.

the knowledge i gained from doing my b18 swap with pretty much just building materials is going to come in handy for future swaps, experience is everything.

    Re: k20 swap

i mean the swap is entirely feasible. it's just big money.

    known problems:

tall motor - no hood EVER, or make a custom cowl.
    header - custom, firewall modification
shifter - gotta hack the firewall and interior console, to run the rsx/civSi shifter
mounts - completely custom, or hack up some EF/CRX mounts possibly

then it's just down to wiring and the most important part, about 10 grand to get it all done. the only real downfall to this is that its balls out expensive and i would say the majority of people that own a 3G don't have deep enough pockets for it. i sure as hell don't, but if i did i would already have a K20 3G. originality has been tossed to the wind for convenience. but that's not me.

    So you mean 5.5-7k total?
What is so different about a k vs a b?
Mounts, wiring, axles, basically everything, needs to be fabricated either way. It sure as f doesn't cost 5.5-7k to drop in a b. The k is just a little more wiring, a different shifter setup, and a hydraulic clutch.
If I had all the parts and a little extra money, I could drop that into my car easily.
Do you still have the k20?

    Re: k20 swap

^ yes I have the K20Z1... Im tracking down a K24 block for it and building the bottom end... when/if I feel froggy and we get some sort of engine management for the FG2 that motor is going into my Si... Or if for some reason the K20Z3 in my Si lets go I will swap in the parts from the Z1..
