Tranny fluid leak?

in all honesty, i really dont know what that circular piece is, but im sure someone on here does. ill research it, though, and try to figure out what it is.
i have to use vice grips to get the dipstick loose on my car. not the regular sized ones, but a smaller pair that fits in the confined area. they give just enough leverage to break it free so i can then turn it with my hand.

The leak seems to be coming from the top of the transmission around were the circular piece is near some bolts? hmmm. Do you mind taking a pic or checking your car to see if the circular thing is the same on yours? ie. there's no cap or anything on it?. Thanks evil.
- and have you had any tranny trouble ever with yours? leaks etc.

yeah i can take a look tonight and if i have the time i can post what i found tomorrow. i have to go to a wedding, but ill try to stop by the office on my way and tell you what i found.
as far as tranny problems go, i really dont have any. but i do have to change my fluid about every 9 months because i live in a mountainous area and it gets really hot here. if i dont keep up with it, the car starts shifting funny.

okay so the weather here has been really rainy and i didnt get to really look thoroughly, but i did poke around for a bit and i couldnt find that round piece you were refering to. possibly someone else has an idea.

Your dipstick will work a lot better if you replace the o-ring on it. Then just tighten the dipstick until it slightly smushes the o-ring. You won't have any leaks and won't have to crank down to get it sealed. No vice-grips, no skinned knuckles, no worries.

yo im lost. i need help with a possible blown head gasket on my 1988 accord LXi. any body know the difficulty and cost? or where can i find this info?
