Well I just bought my first car. An '88 accord DX hatch. So far I'm happy with it, and finding this forum made me even happier! I was seriously debating wether or not to put money into upgrading my car before I found this board. Now there's not doubt that I will. Thanks for all the help that you've already given me indirectly, and for all the questions I will probably be asking in the future.

Oh my god. I didn't even notice that you were here. I love your hatch. The one I have is the one that was sitting at the salvage yard on St. Street. It's in pretty good shape. Engines good and it's got a new clutch. Any chance I could get you to help fix mine up?
I had my eye on that hatch at barger matson!!!!! I drive by there everyday and saw it gone last week finally. lol, Black interior, red, but a dx. Yah, i'm able to help you fix that puppy up. Check out my wrecked hatch thread sometime. I'm a 3gee wizard when it comes to these cars. What are your plans with it?

That's okay that you're not too good with carbs. I was thinking of some body work and interior work first. then tackling the engine later. it needs a tune up first before I move on the the body and interior. as for the engine probably just some basic things. I don't want to go too over the top on my first car.

Well, you'll need some ngk plugs, wires, cap, rotor, seafoam, full tank of gas, new air filter, oil, oil filter, and you should be good to go. How much did you want to spend? Is it 5 speed or auto?

it's a 5 speed. That's the only reason I bought it. I didn't want a auto for my first car, and now that I've finally driven a standard for the first time I don't think I'll ever go back to driving auto. About the parts about how much is that gonna cost? any chance that I can get you to buy the parts for me and just pay you on Saturday since I have no idea what I'm looking for?

oops about the how much do I want to spend thing. right now I just want to get it running well. In the future I want to get it to be decently speedy. No point in having a nice looking car if you can't back it up under the hood.

I've been looking at getting some 17's for rims. just trolling around ebay. and eventually I'll replace the suspension with something better so I can lower it a little bit. I'm also looking for a body kit for it.
