Won't start, fuel pump won't kick on

I've done some reading and i'm thinking the problem is the main relay, just want to run it by you guys to see what you think. Last night me and cousin replaced 4 wheel studs and took the car out for a short drive, came back and parked it in front of the garage. Went to turn it back on and nothing. checked to see if i was getting spark and getting plenty, just did a tune up last saturday on it. Tried it again today after work and still a no go. We took the main relay out and checked it, it "looks" fine but I read that the main relay is like 2 relays in one, one controlling the fuel pump and the main one.

I've had this exact problem...first i thought it was the main relay. I swapped it and nothing...then i thought fuel pump...swapped and nothing still...then the computer because the LED wasnt flashing. Bu then again how could it be the computer if everything else worked. I was getting spark too. Although i found out that wen i put in the new motor there was a ground that was loose...tightened it up and it ran first time...Although im sure its one of the things i stated above..I hope it helps!!!

Thanks, i'll look around for some loose grounds, that can cause the fuel pump not to kick on at all?

Do a search here on Main relay or a google search for the same. There s a good website on how to jump the relays out to see if that is the problem.

Another thing that happend I forgot to mention is a fuse was blown under the hood, the ecu/clock one. I replaced it and had expected to hear it fire right up but still no go. I've checked all other fuses and nothing else is blown, could this have fried something else?

The question is, what caused the fuse to blow? I don't have a wiring diagram in front of me to look at right now, but I recommend looking at the one in the service manual and seeing what that fuse feeds and start testing those devices. ECU maybe. ECU wiring problem maybe.

Re: Won't start, fuel pump won't kick on

had problems with my fuel pump as well...toke out the whole fuel pump assembly form the trunk and wired it up to a batteries to see if there was a leak(tested with water) next thing you know water start shooting out all over so i just replaced the pump it self...started it up and it worked...try checking your fuel filter as well to see if you get pressure
