    My New Sound Setup

I finally replaced the old crappy stereo in my 3g. I bought an Alpine CDA-9883 head unit w/ built in iPod control, & 4 Boston Acoustics S65RC 6 1/2" speakers. I'm sorry I don't have installation pics, but I can provide a few quick details of what I had to to to install everything. First things first, i removed all four of the speakers. Then, i clipped the existing speaker connectors & soldered on the new ones. I then had to drill 2 new holes in each of the 4 speakers to make them like up with the baffles. To remove the head unit, I removed the ashtray, & then the ashtray bracket, and it just slid right out. I had to solder together the Honda wiring harness & the Alpine harness, which took about half an hour. I then put in the mounting bracket for the new head unit & slid the new unit into place. I wired my iPod up through the glovebox so no wires are showing. You control every aspect of the iPod from the head unit. It's pretty cool. Here Are the links to the equipment.

all you need is a sub now. i also picked up a pioneer deck and soldered all the connections...took me like 2 hours to do since i was learning. but its worth it.

Nice work. I'm contemplating a CDA-9827 and was wondering if you had to drill anything for the Alpine mounting bracket? And are the screw locations the same?

LOL thats a losing battle. I have 2 12's with a 1000watt amp. Every piece on the car is rattling so badly.
