ST Rear Sway Bar- Watch Out!

I received my front and rear sway bars from Summit today. I was getting ready to strip the ugly-ass green off and repaint, when i noticed that the rear bar was slightly larger than the front. It was like 1 1/10". The number on the bar was 51110, which was the same on their website and on the instructions. The rear body bushings were way too small for the bar. I decided to pull the old bar and this is what I found:

    The damn thing doesn't fit!

What gets me is I bought them as a kit. The front bar, all the bushings and hardware seem fine, the rear bar is the only incorrect piece. I guess they just put the wrong label on the bar. I'm calling Summit tomorrow.
Has anyone else had problems with ST?

Yeah, but isn't the 4g supposed to fit with some modification? There would be no way with this one, even with completely different bushings and hardware.

That sucks bro, my ST bar was correct.

Factory on top, ST on bottom

Factory on top, ST on bottom

Just call them and tell them the problem. I'm sure summit will correct the issue.

if the vigor bar bolts right into the cb7 and it bolts right into the 3g then there is no reason an aftermarket cb7 bar shouldn't bolt into the 3g

I called them, they ordered the correct one from ST and are sending UPS to pick up the other. Looks like another month or two wait.

Just to clarify, It isn't the 4g bar. This one would require new hardware, brackets, modified control arms, and is about an 2" short on each side.

heh, looks like it must've been mislabeled at the factory or something. bc 51110 is only a 3g-specific part according to st website.

Re: ST Rear Sway Bar- Watch Out!

i want to see a how-to or some pictures on the 4g sway bar install, because I would SURELY buy the 4g rear bar from ST if I know it will work, with little mods.

I will of course take pictures and explain the process if I do it as well.

I can't just get a refund, as I bought them as a kit. Thanks for the warning though.

Screw that B.S., if you got the wrong sway bar on their bad, make them pay the fuck up. I totally agree with Oldblue, watch them cause more than likely, your going to front the shipping back. Tell them to pay up, they messed up from the get go!
