    Question Wheel Size's

    Allright, answer me this.....
Why in the hell when you have a wheel size, its allways 1" taller then what it is registered at......the 16" Wheels I have here are all 17.2" tall. Is this the same on all wheels? I'm just trying to figure out that when I measure things like that, the 18" wheels that I'm gonna buy with the tires are going to be just like a few cm's taller then the 16" wheels with tires.

    I know what chu mean.
I think its the actual diameter of the part the tire goes around is the assigned height. The other part is just the lip that the tire tucks into.
Cause my 17's measuer 18.?? inches across...

This is the kind of question that will only confuse people. I know your curious, but.............

Jigga got it right. Whatever the rim size is, it's not a measurement based on the edge of the lip (or the top of the lip).
It's based on the surface that the tire bead mount's on.

I'm curious, I don't understand the reason you give for wondering about this. Why on earth would you even think this up? (not ment as a demeaning question, I just totally don't get it )
