I have a 1991 accord ex with a busted automatic transmission, but the engine is in great shape. Can I drop that in my 1986 accord lx and will it mount to the manual transmission?

not unless your 86 lx is running an f-series (excluding f20c/f22c) or h-series engine.

whats up man welcome to the forum! Hey just make sure you read the stickies in the subforums and the Frequently Asked Questions before you post questions. Alot of these questions are asked quite a bit, and the Head against the wall icon kinda sums up our feelings about answering these questions over and over. To answer your question, 3g accord transmissions wont bolt up to 4g accord motors, 4g accord motors take a shit ton of work to put into a 3g accord. If you blew up your motor, or are in need of a new one, head to the junkyard and find one that got rear ended badly
^^you have alot of patience with these people lol
i only make a few posts a day i can at least be nice to the new guys haha. Besides, i work with people all day, answer alot of the same questions "WHAT THE HELL YOU GUYS CHARGE FOR QUESO?" haha etc etc ( i work for On The Border for us U.S. guys...)
just rebuild the stock tranny or convert to manual.

ok guys, thanks. Just curious. Its parts I have that i wanted to use without spending a load of time and cash trying to find a bunch of different things to make it work. My 86 just doesn't have the oomph any more....

from my experience... wrecking yard is yer friend when it comes to these cars for parts....
well atleast for me.. anything engine wise on these cars 86-89 accords should interchange, just gotta watch thee'ol carb or efi cars.... hell even the 86-87 lude engine/tranny stuff works providing is bt/1 or a20x...
