I decided to go with all new audio hardware for the new Accord. Yes, that means the DTS processor is out... I passed it on to a buddy who's been eyeing it ever since I bought it. He'll treat it well.
I wanted something light and simple for the SE-i, but I still wanted gobs of goodies. I went with a Pioneer DEH-2900 headunit. It's simple, plays mp3s, has IP-BUS and it also has this neat little "hard-wired remote" feature. If I can track down the adapter box (calling Pioneer today), I can use the SE-i's steering wheel controls on the new HU. Nice
I also went with Pioneer 6.5's all around. I know the SE-i uses 6x9's in the rear, but I will be swapping my black rear deck over which is cut for 6.5's. They fit perfectly and I wanted matched speaks in the front and back.
Subs and rear amp are still up in the air. I may move the pair of 8's I have in the LX-i over along with its amp, but we'll see.
The last of the goodies were the iPod adapter which is in the armrest and an XM tuner, both of which use Pio's IP-BUS to connect to the HU. No extra controls, no FM modulators. Simple. Elegant.
