Shame , its a B20a5, so cant use the whole motor
looked over the receipts, it has some goodies alright.
going to buy it just for the internals, so i'll have a spare set of H beams,
a ported B20a5 head with manifold to suit 2 x 45mm side draught carbs and a brand new set of standard size valves

wee update, after a few more hold ups, she now has new wheel bearings all round, urethane front bushes and some slotted/dimpled front rotors coming.
Pick up the parts donor B20a5 tomorrow after work. looking forward to opening it up and seeing all the hipo NA goodness.
adjustable cam gears, big cams, valve springs , stainless valves , wiseco forgies, h beams, knife edged crank, lightened flywheel, high volume oil pump.
sounds pretty good to me !
and once engine bay is degreased, she's of for a few minor panel touch ups and paint !

are the pistons in the b20a5 oversize? Last time i put together a b20 using standard 81mm pistons all the blocks i had were too fucked and needed oversize.

the receipts say the block was bored to suit pistons, so they'll prob be .020.
Doubt it would be .040 tho.

Re: Haunted CA3's Honda Accord 2.0Si Exclusive

    Got the motor home.
Been having a look through receipts and found a few things i missed.
The cams are a bit bigger than i thought , 290-290 degree ,10.25mm valve lift.
    Cam gears are skunk items
930 for valves , 975 for rods 990 for pistons
    has a head stud kit

but what got me was the cam designation, motorsport 5, race , 5000rpm
sounds like they are hucking fuge !

Re: Haunted CA3's Honda Accord 2.0Si Exclusive

    sorry aaron
    forgot my camera
    but have the head off
def has skunk cam gears, kelfords have added heaps to the lobes to get the profile.
big valve springs , lash pads on the exhaust valves.
going to need to get valve seats recut to suite the bigger valves.
pistons are wiseco forgies, 81.5 mm 5cc dome with big fat flycuts for valve clearance.
the a5 head has had a ring machined around the chamber for piston clearance because
the piston edge sticks out of the bore.
this thing is getting hairier by the day.
wont be using the flywheel, coz its just to light, had to much removed.
likewise the front pulley, has no power steer pulley, and I like power steer.
will put pics up on Monday

you may be able to see that the valve in the a5 head are a bit bigger than whats in mine.
Going to have to have the seats in my head recut to suit the evo valves..
will dig out my flywheel and front pulley and send them off to the engine guy to be balanced to suit the bottom end of the a5

Re: Haunted CA3's Honda Accord 2.0Si Exclusive

    pulled a couple valves out
Ferrea 25 degree super flow mitsi 6g72t 1mm os inlet and exhaust are what the part numbers come up as.
has a talk to the guy that built the a5 today.
he's going to come and have a look at the bearings and pistons.
mainly to make sure the crank and pistons are reusable.
but to see how much is involved in recutting the valve seats to suit the os valves.
the bearings are a bit shiney , and a few are showing signs of flaking ,so i 'd say its been revved hard, prob on the dyno ,he thinks when it was tuned.
owner apparently wanted to see what it would make, near enough to 280 on 45 dhla dellortoes fwhp @8500rpm.

Old girl is at the painters/panelbeaters. garage looks empty without my baby there.
Will give me a chance to spread the interior out and give it all a good cleaning.
Hope i will have it back in a month , just cause the guy doing the work is semi retired and works when he feels like it.

I've always been ticking away at something on it, be it blasting and painting brackets and trim bits, undersealing.
The front suspension is bushed with urethane , new bearings and ball joints.
now it will be cleaning apolstery etc.

Visiting us all in nz would be quite a trip, Matt lives at the top of NZ, Aaron in the middle and me at the bottom. prob 1000 driving miles and a ferry ride to do it

I couldnt see much because she was all covered up to keep crap off it while the primer shrinks back.
so unless you all wanted pics of the bottom of doors , i got nothing to show at the moment.
Progress is most definitely happening at a very quick rate , well for me anyways.
Dropped off the alloys for repairs and refinishing on thursday. should have those back in a week or so.
Looking for a Public debut before Xmas. only taken 8 and a bit years so far .
