yep! a pic messy !
My old camera packed up , but the company bought me a galaxy s5, so have a camera again.
Unfortunately , i dont think it will see paint for at least 2 weeks , we are not forecast to get above 10 degrees C for a while , and the painter doesnt have a heated booth.
yeah wait till the weather heats up a bit or you will get a shit job.
Done a deal last night with a guy that imports american cars to nz , going to do a few freebie jobs in return for one of those obx lsds .
just make sure to rebuild the LSD before installing.

Found the how to on another site for doing that.
Clean up casting marks etc , new bolts ...
Does anyone have some 88-89 lxi front uprights/knuckles lying around ?
I need hub center line to caliper mount bolt hole measurement .
I want to do the 11 inch brake conversion but my CA has the smaller 242mm front brakes.
I have a cd front caliper and mounting holes, distance from mounts to slides , mounts to top of caliper are pretty much the same as my 2 piston calipers.
Whats the difference between the 88-89 lxi knuckles and my JDM Si .
Any help would be good guys

hey just replied to your PM. the hubs/knuckels are different and have different bolt distance. this is why people have to upgrade to the bigger hub before going 11 inch rotor. Fastbrakes.com has a good deal for 500 dollars. includes calipers, SS lines, redrilled brake disks and pads.

Right diameter , imagine the pcd will be right and the height as well .
Maybe the best option i have .
decent set of pads, braided lines and it woyuld probably be ok
LSD is on the way .
good stuff. no blown diffs for you
Sort of hope not with a fair chunk of 300 na hp on the board .
just off the phone with the painter , now the weather is warming up , should have car back by the end on the month ready for reassembly , bar the motor of course
good news (Y)
It is good news .
He's only had the car for 5 months .
But I did drop it off to him at the start of a cold winter and he's had some health problems to deal with , so i'm not worried bout it .
Will give me a bit more motivation to get a few other bits sorted .
Waiting for my tax refund so I can get stuff done to the motor .
Diff should be here in the next week or so .
Spend some time giving it a tidy up , some new gearbox bearings and seals .
Waiting on a price for a new clutch , flywheel etc
As some of you would have seen on the fb group, I've decided to go wasted spark ignition.
Pretty easy to wire up really.
The ecu will get the 3 signals from the pickups in the distributor and tdc sensor.
The ecu will drive a 2 channel mitsi ignitor and then 2 evo coils.
the most expensive part, apart from the ecu will be the ignitor which is like 100 brand new .
Coils are cheap at 50 each , and i'll mount the coils probably on the distributor end of the head just so i can use the new lead set i have .
has it been painted yet?
Not sure, havnt talked to the guy in a month.
I'm in no rush. gives me more time to get engine sorted.
The last of the bearings for the gearbox will be here next week from jdm land.
Got the block off for final machining yesterday.
Got a place in Tauranga sorting rings and bearings.
Got the coils today, going to dummy the head up and see if I can mount them between the distributor and TDC sensor
When it rains it pours.
Have the block being machined and put together ,gasket set ordered, gearbox is going back together with the obx diff and a full compliment of bearings .
Then last night I get a ring from the painter , He just wants the door catches and boot latch to hold everything shut and she's getting painted , if not this week , next.
Should have it in the workshop by xmas , will at least give me something to do over the xmas break.
Getting excited now !
Sweet, looking forward to pics
