sweet!! makes me regret selling mine even though mine where only silver top ones. how well do the ports line up?

not perfect but nothing a short manifold wont fix.
the injectors are 12 ohms ones so will be bypassing the injector resistor, modding the tps to fit ,and since the blacktop runs map sensor, the toyota manifold is set up for going straight to the factory honda map.
just got to figure out how to work an engine stabiliser
cool. just need a front engine mount that wont rip apart under load & you should be able to get away with not having that torque rod there
looks awesome br0, shame its blacktop bearing runner motor parts on another blacktop but im interested to see the finished result if you actually go through with it
an dust what do you mean by that aaron? i've got this far so i may as well keep going with it eh. dont worry bout the b16a mani at the mo eh.
okay its still going to be here tho
this is a copy of the 4age gasket with the b20a one over the top. you can see the diff in the bits coloured in with sharpie. this is one reason for needing to make a short manifold.
the other reason is that the toyota manifold wont get closer to the head than the end of the mani studs, and the fact that those thin wee grooves you see come one from each runner and meet up at the rubber hose at the top for the map sensor. the holes on the other side of the injector cut out are for the pcv hook up. one end of teh manifold is going to be the same as the honda flange and the other will be the same as the toyota on. am going to port the injector cut outs as much as possible , just because they are going to be a couple inches further away from the valve head than i would prefer.
YAY! won an auction for a Microtech standalone ecu yesterday.
NZD$800 for ecu and handset controller.
will be just the thing for running the itb equipped b20a.
only bitch is its mapped for an mitsi evo 6.5 so will have to get the tuning done from scratch.
will post pics as soon as i pick it up
Cool. Great news man! I'd like to see how this ecu works with the B20A
This thread's been around for years, and somehow I missed it.
Well great stuff. (subscribed)
sweet your getting there!
dropped off the itbs and the remains of the honda manifold off at the fab shop today, should have a working manifold back in a day or so.
talked to the local microtech ecu agent today, and since its programmed to run an evo motor and use mitsi sensors, i'll have to have it sent back to the manufacturer for reprogramming to accept the honda sensors etc because of the diff signals. thats gunna cost me a couple hundy but is still cheaper than buying the nz made equivilent ecu.
hopefully have pics of both up by the end of the week
got flash new ecu today!
and i like the look of the standard inlet port enough not to touch it
lol i notice in a lot of your pics theres always a woodys bottle lying around. that ecu is pretty small!
lol i notice in a lot of your pics theres always a woodys bottle lying around. that ecu is pretty small!
yeah , there are the odd woodie bottle round eh.
i do enjoy a drink while winding down in the garage, and beer makes me bloat.
the microtech is pretty small eh.
duz heaps tho
will do sequential injector fire, sequential 4 coil set up, anti lag, launch control, flat shifter, vtec control, boost control up to 28 psi, injector pulse width in 100th of a millisecond intervals.............
and te fact that its only 2 years old, not 20 odd, modern electronics are great for being so small.
i think i could prob fit the whole ecu in the mystery black box with no worries.
on a shitty note, the fab shop wanted like $600 to mod my manifold to suit the itbs. ummm not fuckin likely i thinks.
so i went and bought a die grinder for match porting it all up, and i will be getting the welding and machining done through one of our out work suppliers at work for a quarter of the price.
might take a wee bit longer but will still get done soon.
am going to try and start wiring in the microtech loom into the honda in the weekend i hope
awesome stuff
have just about got the toyota-honda manifold adaptor finished.
just got to tidy up the port shapes a bit more.
got my paint organised today.
bout $600 for everything i need to do the job.
base coat, clear, primer, thinners, degreaser and sand paper.
already have compressor and gravity feed spray gun.
am looking forward to many late friday and saturday nights in the garage doing panel work.
cant wait to get it all together and running again.
sweet, that sounds like fun. take heaps of pics of the painting process
will do eh.
still abit of panel work to do, but now the weather is warming up i wont be so worried bout freezing my nuts off being out in the garage.
was meant to get the paint today, but the paint place didnt have enough jet black to get the colour right. so it will be monday instead.
fir enough, then you can come do mybodywork and paint, cause i HATE that sort of shit haha
i find panel work is quite relaxing and rewarding.
you concentrate on what you are doing and get to see the end result.
next car after this will be either the SiR or my dads" soon to be mine" 1957 jag mk 7 sorry aaron, otherwise i would. i need a holiday eh
body work is very enjoyable take heaps of pics :S
1988 Honda Accord LX-i Coupe 123k miles.
im glad you enjoy it, that means your going to do a good job
Im just going to simply sand, and paint, dents can stay haha
